Hello Dave! That puzzled me too. Perhaps Decca think Hayley's new album will send all the others into oblivion. Richard

I noticed this too, could it be that Decca thinks Hayley is not worth the promotion? I certainly hope not ! However since pure & odyssey Hayley's Album promotional work (by Decca, et al) in the UK and NZ has been on the decline, whereas in Japan it's been High. I apologize in advance if my view on this is incorrect as I know Dave & others will have proof to support or disprove this theory
Cheers Dean

Hello Dean Richard and everyone,
I know no more then anyone else, though I tend to think the omission from the newsletter is more likely to be someone's silly mistake, or perhaps the change of release date was still being debated but they hadn't yet decided, so they left it out? We may get another Decca newsletter but either way, it wouldn't be a "costs of promotion" issue as one item in a record company email newsletter won't cost Decca anything.
They may just be waiting to see what impact is made by Hayley's appearance at the Festival of Remembrance, who knows? But that on its own won't guarantee a successful Christmas album so I hope there are some follow-up TV appearances planned.

Hello again everyone, We may now have the answer. HMV hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;1;-1;-1;-1&sku=237628#anchorSpecialFeatures has now changed the tracklisting for the UK release of Winter's Dream. There have been one or two changes in the track order but most importantly, a new duet has been added as track 15. This may tell us not only who Hayley was in the recording studio with last week, but why the album has been delayed. Here is the HMV track listing: * 1. The Little Road To Bethlehem * 2. Carol Of The Bells * 3. The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire) * 4. Veni Veni Emmanuel * 5. Silent Night * 6. Christmas Morning * 7. Sleigh Ride * 8. River * 9. Winter's Dream * 10. The Little Drummer Boy * 11. Corpus Christi Carol * 12. All With You * 13. The Coventry Carol * 14. Peace Shall Come * 15. It's Only Christmas - With Ronan Keating Winter's Dream is promoted to track 9 and "It's Only Christmas" with Ronan Keating (ex of Boyzone) has been added at the end - presumably recorded last week. Interestingly, Ronan Keating has an album due to be released on November 16, Hayley's original release date, called "Winter Songs" and one of the tracks listed (as solo by him) is: It's Only Christmas. Ronan's record label is Polydor which like Decca is owned by Universal. Universal may well have thought that the two albums with a similar theme, title and the same release date would have adversely affected each other's sales (or retailers didn't like it) so the duet helped Polydor to persuade Decca to delay. Horse trading! So I think it's "panic over" as we now seem to have a logical explanation for Hayley's delayed release date - whether it be 23 or as 30 November (I suspect the latter) - and the omission from the newsletter (it was in the middle of changing). Cheers, Dave

Do you know, this explanation actually occurred to me a couple of days ago, and I nearly posted something. Well, now we have an excuse to buy the UK version of the album as well as the Japanese one...
It also could result in a number of Boyzone fans discovering Hayley...

WOW!! RONAN KEATING!! I'm going to try to get tickets for his concert when he comes to Australia. No wonder Hayley was excited! Pity the duet isn't on his album as well.

Hi everyone,
It's interesting comparing Ronan's tracklist to Hayley's. They overlap on two songs - It's Only Christmas and River.
While I'm glad that the duet has been added to the list, I am a little disappointed that there are so many bonus tracks. Why can't there be at least two bonus tracks per version, or extra DVD/calendar like the Japanese S/E? Oh well.
I'm guessing that Ronan's It's Only Christmas will be the duet version.
~Nordly
Ps Since the UK version seems to be different than the US version now, should there be a separate thread for each?

Hi Jillian, They say "November 09" meaning "November 2009". It's a very odd way of doing it! I've just put "Late November" on the HWI website... who knows what the real date is, certainly not me! Cheers, Dave

What a bizarre duet. Ronan can't sing a note, and then there is Hayley - pitch perfect. I like Ronan anyway. Even though he can't sing. Bless him. I have to change the advertising on my site now.

So I think it's "panic over" as we now seem to have a logical explanation for Hayley's delayed release date - whether it be 23 or as 30 November (I suspect the latter) I notice that Play.com now has the new 15 track listing (agrees with hmv.com) and the 30 November release date (agrees with amazon.co.uk) so I'm willing to put real money on it being 30th November in the UK. This has excited me so much!! I just hope they don't delay the release of Ronan's album which is due out on the 16th in order to add it to that :S
I love Ronan Keating and I have to disagree with whoever said he couldn't sing a note-I think he has a very unique voice which enables him to put a certain kind of emotion in every song he sings but he can definitely carry a tune in the technical sense too. Anyway, sorry to go on and on but here's hoping each singer gains fans from the other singer's fans!

I bought tickets for a Ronan Keating concert today! Now if only we could convince Hayley to come to Australia to sing the duet with him! :rollin In case anyone here is unsure of who Ronan Keating is, here's the film clip to what is probably his most famous song: 'When You Say Nothing At All' www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuJrEBtmM1Q
