Hi Mark, That's exactly what I did. I wanted the CD to remind me of the concert; not the concert to remind me of the CD ! It worked i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Hearing all bar one of the songs for the first time live was a great experience..... maybe a unique one Sure you will think the same after Saturday ! Best Wishes, Graham

I have to say that having played the CD almost incessantly since early October, it wasn't a problem. As a result of Peterborough, I love the CD even more. I now know what Hayley can sound like in a beautiful cathedral, and the CD now reminds me of that. Even though it has drums, and there were none at the live performance. Not even for Little Drummer Boy. And it still sounded wonderful.

Not even for Little Drummer Boy. And it still sounded wonderful. I'm with Martin but I'll go even further by saying that having the CD since the beginning of October and playing it incessantly actually heightened my anticipation of this concert tour. I had become very familiar with all the tracks; had picked my favourites and was very excited to hear what they sounded like live. Of course, I could have been very disappointed had they not come up to expectations, but this is Hayley we are talking about so that was unlikely to happen. In the end she was magnificent! Remember, this album and the concert tour is something she has wanted to do for a long time and she was clearly in her element and enjoying herself to the full. Hayley put her heart and soul into her performance and gave the evening a very spiritual atmosphere and I felt very proud of her. I am so pleased that I made the effort to book as many of these concerts as I could logically attend and I can't wait for Banbury! Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant,
I had wondered about that CD. Some of the vocal effects are really unique and beautiful, and I suspected some sort of electronic trickery. But it sounds the same live! It is the purity of her voice that makes these things possible. She sounded the same live, and even unmiked, using the natural reverb of the cathedral. That was wonderful, something I have never heard before, and something I doubt any other singer on the planet can do.

Hi Martin I'm really surprised that you have just figured out that Hayley is as good recorded as she is live. That is if you have agood recording.
Be Well Larry

Hello everyone I hope to be arriving in Banbury at around 2pm as I'm not sure how easy it will be to park on a Saturday afternoon. I'm also thinking that, as this is a parish church, it is unlikely to be open to the public during the afternoon, so we may not be able to watch the sound check. Perhaps Mark can advise about this; about parking and about places to eat. Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant and Martin, The common bond we all have here on the forum is our love for Hayley. We are also a broad spectrum with many diverse views. I am glad you both think that hearing the CD first heighted your enjoyment. On the other hand I felt a great excitement at hearing many songs for the first time live .... Maybe the only time it will happen I have been to many Hayley concerts and not heard any 'new' songs......Yes still great ... but Ripon was different. It is not a matter of saying which you think is best but respecting that we are not all the same ( thank goodness ) Best Wishes, Graham

Hi Grant, Martin & everyone The carpark that I recommended to Martin is slightly out of the main town and in my experience, doesnt get quite as full as the carparks by the main shopping centre - however, I dont really know how it gets on a Saturday afternoon - but try it. Once you have parked, you need to find your way to the main Oxford Road down into the town - or to the Banbury Cross. Once at the cross, the church is a very short walk down on the right - big green dome. Infact, here is a pic I took of the church looking down the hill towards the cross - you can see the dome of St Mary's As far as eating goes, there are a couple of places very nearby - not sure if they serve food THAT early -but if all else fails, then we could go to the old favourite - Weatherspoons!! But not the one round the corner, there is a brand new one down in the town, which is much nicer - altjough I have never been in it I will be around from just after 2pm at the church - so see you all then. Best wishes Mark

Hi Grant To answer your earlier question, it seems that the church will be open - according to their website, the church is open to the public Monday to Saturday from 10am until 4pm www.stmaryschurch-banbury.org.uk/Does that look hopeful for the soundcheck??? Regards Mark

Does that look hopeful for the soundcheck??? I'm afraid it doesn't. Whilst it is wonderful for anyone in the church/cathedral to sit in for sound checks, it must be, at least, slighly distracting for Hayley. I would therefore think that Hayley will choose to do her sound check after the church closes to the public. She will still have plenty of time to get ready and relax a little before the concert. It will also give us concert goers time to have a 'relaxed' meal before the show. Have found the car park you recommend on google. Best wishes Grant

Hi Mark & Grant There is also a long term council car park (£3 for 4 hrs) in Calthorpe Street West which is very near to the church. I might try that one first.
