Well I'd heard of John Barrowman before; I knew he was a singer as well as an actor (I think Dr Who & Torchwood are some of his more recent TV work), however I'd never got around this listening to any of his music.
Well I did the other day and I was pleasantly surprised. He is not bad. I'm sure there may be better male singers named in the forum, however I enjoyed listening to him

Hi Dean,
John Barrowman did a bit of singing when he was a judge on the reality show 'How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria'. I believe John also was a judge on the one show that searched for the lead in Joseph & Technicolor Dreamcoat.
John is a very good actor as 'Capt Jack Harness' on Torchwood.
Regards, Joe

Hi Dean and Joe,
I've also heard of John Barrowman! I think his duets with Ruthie Henshall are pretty good... their 'Anything you can do I can do Better' was very funny. I believe that they duetted at ALW's Birthday in the Park last year; although I may be wrong.
And yes, he was a Dreamcoat judge

Hi Dean I saw John in AWL's musical "Sunset Boulevard" many years ago and he was excellent.

I bought his Andrew Lloyd Webber album (Aspects of Webber?) and was disappointed. He sounds flat throughout. A very thin voice and I am surprised he has found recording success. I played it for my best friend too, and he was a bit confused by the CD. We were surprised since he was a judge for ALW's reality shows and features in the musicals himself. I was expecting a lot better. As Captain Jack? He is awesome, of course! For the brief time that I watched Doctor Who, I absolutely adored him as Captain Jack. But David Tennent's gone now, so...

Hi folks
I love the episode of Al Murray's Happy Hour when John was the first guest! He is such a funny guy!
I think his main strength is in musicals, not as a singer releasing albums. His on stage presence coupled with his ability to act and sing at the same time are his greatest feature. By saying this I'm not slating his TV acting - Torchwood is one of my favourite programs - Children of Earth was brilliant - can't wait for the next season!
Cheers
Ben
