Looking forward to the outcome of the competition. They're all very good pictures. I'm sure Hayley is going to find it difficult to choose.

Hi everyone, I loved all the photos that were originally submitted! It was very hard to choose, so I thought it would be nice to make a memento to preserve all the photos selected, so they don't get forgotten about. I set them to the soundtrack of Hayley's most recent triumph -- the live recording of Nada Sou Sou at the World Games in Taiwan. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bpCgUcXCJI(P.S I had such trouble trying to decide where to post this! This thread, or the youtube thread or the World Games thread,,,,)

Thanks, Martin... but I daresay with Hayley singing and then with the photos from HWI --- how could it be anything but fabulous! :rollin I take no credit -- merely the messenger of great material. Gee, I love Nada Sou Sous ... the bit where Hayley sings 'In grief and joy..." is just brilliant... anyway. I need to start a petition to have that song placed on her next international album!

Hi Jillian,
Nada SouSou is where it belongs, on HSJS. Perhaps the greatest album ever made by a female singer (the only close competition is HSJS2). When the world wakes up to Hayley, as I'm sure it will, it will find HSJS soon enough. Meanwhile, let her move forward.

Oh I suppose... if Hayley ever releases a cd single it might be a nice B-Side, perhaps. But you're right... we must look to the future! And I mustr also look to not taking this thread completely off topic! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hi Everyone I am extremely pleased (and relieved) that everything went to plan last night at Southend and I managed to get Hayley (with thanks to Dave, her road manager) to select the winners from the final five poll photos. They are: Overall Winner Photo No. 8 taken by Grant at “Silence in the Square”, Nov 2008 Runners-Up : Photo No. 4 taken by Steve H at Global Angels, Cadogan Hall, 2006 and, Photo No. 9 taken by Steve H at Classical Brit Awards, Albert Hall, 2008 Congratulations to Grant and Steve Talking to Dave after the concert he said that Hayley found the choice of winners to be very difficult which I am sure you will all agree with since all five final photos, indeed the twelve selected in the forum poll are outstanding and a credit to our photographers. Well done everybody concerned. Anyway, the competition is now over and we have some worthy winners. I hope you enjoyed it and do post your thoughts on the results. So, until the next photographic competition ( ) Best wishes Martin

Hi Grant, Congratulations on your win in the photo contest. As I had told you earlier it was my favorite. It captured the essence of Hayley.
Also congratulations to all the other photogs. I'm glad I didn't have to pick from all these other great shots.
Steve's runner up photo was also worthy of the prize.

Hello everyone
Gobsmacked! I think is the most appropriate expression for the way I feel having just discovered that Hayley chose one of my pictures as overall winner of the competition!
Naturally I'm thrilled to bits though more than a little surprised considering that Hayley was not at all well at that time and I thought being reminded of it might have held bad memories for her.
Despite Hayley being unwell and the fact that I had to get up at silly o'clock to get down to London for the start of it all, I wouldn't have missed it for the worlds. That particular picture was taken after most of the press had got what they wanted and Hayley was really just 'doing her own thing' which is why it looks so natural.
I still think most of the credit should go to Hayley for being such an amazing subject to photograph!
I must apologise for the fact that I can't remember who chose that particular picture (I seem to think it was Martin ?) Thank you to you and to everyone who voted to secure it's place in the top five (an achievement in itself considering the quality of pictures posted on the forum) and thank you Martin for arranging and running the competition. Congratulations also to Steve.
But most of all
Thank you Hayley!
Best wishes Grant

Congratulations Grant, and well done to all the other nominees too. I had a feeling Hayley might pick that photograph as her winner, because it captured her in a rarely seen serious mood. Best Wishes, Richard

Hi everyone, I would like to add my congratulations to Grant for his success in the HWI's first ever photography competition. I would also like to commend Steve H and Graeme K whose entries, quite deservedly, progressed to the final round. Indeed, many thanks to all photographers for their outstanding photographic contributions to this forum over the past six years. As we expected, that standard of all entries (with the exception of my own!) was remarkably high and so I look forward to seeing many new photographs posted in the months and years to come. And finally, my thanks to Martin who put so much time and effort into running the competition with only minimal interference from me, and especially to Hayley for judging the overall winner. Swansea next; get clicking chaps! Roger

Congratulations to Grant for winning the photography competition! And also to Steve H, for his top places.
Each of the photos were amazing and are testament to the members' dedication and support to Hayley.
For me, it was wonderful to see this competition grow from an idea suggested by Martin right up to having Hayley herself judge her favourite.
Thanks to all who have voted or who have entered a photo! Your dedication to Hayley, no matter where in the world you may be, speaks volumes.
Cheers, Joe
