Hey Sandy Important thing here is just be yourself no point trying to be something you're not - parents will soon see through that. I'm sure Jeff has told them what to expect - so what if you're a bit "original", if their son is happy then I'm sure they will be. Love the Koala's by the way Love Grant

Hi Sandy,
Yes, Grant is right. That is what it is about. Be who you are. Don't be false, it will bite you in the end if you do. The main thing is if you and Jeff are happy together, his parents should respect that. If what matters to them is their son's happiness, they will love you for making him happy.
If what matters to them is something else, well they have got it wrong. But in the end it is Jeff, not his parents that matters.
Many years ago I had a lovely girl friend. We got on like a house on fire, but her parents didn't like me, mostly because I was not rich enough. They thought I was after her money (I wasn't) I was the first guy she had ever been out with who was not privately educated. In the end it destroyed our relationship, she had to choose between her parents and me, and it was me who ended it. I couldn't live with that. So I let her go!
It is either right or it isn't. If it is, then it will happen. If it isn't then it won't. But there can be a lot of pain on the way, and being false just makes it worse or prolongs it.
Actually my wife's parents didn't rate me either. But 32 years later we are still together and happy. They came round eventually. First impressions are not the end of the world, and from what I know of you Sandy, you will be fine.
