Then there was our walk up Langstrath, a valley at the head f Borrowdale. We stopped for lunch in the shelter of a stone wall. Whilst eating our sandwiches, we got a strange feelinf of being watched. Turning around we saw There was a gap in the wall, through which the sheep would have to go. But they just stood there looking at us until the shepherds and their dogs arrived. Then one or two of the braver ones edged towards the gap in the wall, then the rest drew courage from that, and it soon became a torrent of sheep. s46.photobucket.com/albums/f107/martinDn/Keswick10/?action=view¤t=P1040682.mp4Martin D Martin D

Thank you for the pictures, Martin. They bring back memories of my last holiday with my wife. We stayed in Ambleside in July last year. We had a wonderful time, but she died a few weeks later.

Sorry to hear that John. I'm glad the memories are positive, rather than painful. I think you have to remember the good times, not dwell on the pain and loss. I'm not sure I could do it though!

Hello John, I'm sorry to learn of your loss during the summer of last year. Hi Grant, Thanks for sharing your pics from wintry Derbyshire! It's amazing how the whole of the UK has been plunged in to the deep freeze so early! Still, one might think that winter has come in one dollop; might be an early spring then i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif HI Martin D, Those are some wonderful photos! That is a lovely pic of the valley stream. My best wishes, Joe

Hello everyone Well it's still snowing here but I was out with my camera yesterday morning whilst the sun shone for a while. This first one was the sight that greeted me when I opened my bedroom curtains I had to go into the village after breakfast and took these on my way. My personal favourite - this little fella was chirping away happily Best wishes Grant

Hello Grant. I love your snow photos, reminds me of my UK Christmas, it was the first white Christmas I had ever experienced, and the COLDEST :je I really take my hat off to you Brit's and anyone that has to endure that type of coldness. Great photos. Regards Rob

Hi Rob
Glad you liked the pictures - you were lucky to have a white Christmas whilst you were visiting, we don't get many unless you live in the hillier parts. Where did you actually stay?
It's not the cold that's really a problem - it's easy enough to wrap up warm - it's the disruption it causes.
Best wishes Grant

As I tweeted to Hayley today, there is no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing.
But there are colder places in the world you know!

I actually stayed at many different locations, we traveled around quite a bit which was all work related, we also took in France and neighboring countries, its was a great experience but I only got to see Hayley in concert just before I was due to fly home. basically our home base was London, I rather like the UK, but not in winter I much prefer the hot weather and my water sports i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRegards Rob Ops I just had to modify this post as I spelt Hayley wrong, that would be a hanging offence here wouldn't it

Glad you enjoyed your stay though, and got to see Hayley in the process. Best wishes Grant

[ Ops I just had to modify this post as I spelt Hayley wrong, that would be a hanging offence here wouldn't it its on the list, but there are more serious infractions; im sure you'll live a long and healthy life despite the setback and you can console yourself in the knowledge that you've come to the right place to make that mistake... though you may sometimes wonder from our 50 last posts
