Does anyone know if Hayley has ever performed The Dark Waltz live? I keep trying to find it on YouTube, but with no luck at all.
I think it's one of her best songs, so I'm rather curious to know...

She sang Dark Waltz (no "The" in the title) live at least once. It's her best recorded song, hands down, and it probably took lots of studio work to get it so perfect. I can't imagine a live version coming close because Hayley's voice has matured away from that crystal clarity of her mid-teens.

Yes she has. Dark Waltz was included in the set list throughout the UK leg of the Pure Tour in March 2004. I don't know about The Australian, New Zealand and Japanese legs of the same tour but it seems likely.
I am not aware that she has performed it since those early days.

Hi Elliot, Keep trying by all means because you never know your luck but I think the chances of it being added now are relatively unlikely. According to Wikipedia, You Tube was launched in February 2005 - almost a year after the Pure Tour. Also, HWI's most regular videographers (Steve H, Stuart H and Drew) weren't members in those days. I have checked our 2004 Video archive but, as expected, it isn't there.  There are one or two other little gems though!  Good luck with your search and I hope you come back one day to prove me wrong! Hi Steve and Ben This was a private recording at Truro Cathedral for a Songs of Praise programme which we have somewhere here on HWI. She was, of course, intending to be at Killiow for a week until the event fell through. Other than that, I don't think she has appeared in Cornwall. Best wishes Grant |
