Hello Jillian! I don't like those shoes either, and they certainly aren't going cheep! At that price, taxidermy is the polite way of saying it. Richard

Ha, ha -- nice pun Richard! I rather think that shoes like that mainly serve as publicity stunts to get the press talking about the designer -- and it has obviously worked. But I'll stop larking around (mmm... your pun was still better!) and get back on topic! I think that these shoes would look nice with the pink Jenny Packham dress: (click for larger -- I'm trying to save everyone's bandwidth here) Those shoes are vintage Roger Vivier for Christian Dior from about 1958. All I can say is that they don't make 'em like they used to! Words can't even express how much I'd like to own those shoes -- but I don't think my dodgy student part time job will cover them .... Or maybe these if you're feeling adventurous (though they may be a few shades too pink) I have amassed a rather frighteningly large collection of possible matching shoes, so I might get around to posting them all sometime tomorrow! It's the Easter weekend and all of my family have gone away without me (my parents are in New Zealand of all places) and my housemates are away, so I'm just passing the time staring at shoes on the internet! At least by picking out pairs for this thread I feel like I'm doing something vaguely productive!

Hi Grant,
Or so expensive! Hayley has sometimes splashed out as we know, but only on something that genuinely looks good on her. I can't see any pair of shoes being worth that to her. I don't think she is into bling for the sake of it!

Hi NL, I like this black and silver dress you posted. The detailing on the straps looks quite dramatic when paired with the black fabric of the dress. Maybe these shoes would suit this dress? (The first pair are by Nicholas Kirkwood and the second by Brian Atwood). (As usual, click for larger) Although, I do admit that a pair of simple heeled black sandals would be best under a voluminous dress -- but these are more fun to look at! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThe black pumps are a little bit like a mullet -- prim and proper at the front.... party at the back! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hi Jillian,
I agree that simple black samdals would look great with that dress! I can also see Hayley wearing her silver sparkely strappy heels with that dress (I'll try to find a picture later)

I may a bit old-fashioned. But I'd love to see Hayley wear something that hearkened back to the Golden Age of Hollywood. Dresses like these look so charming and timeless (All photos courtesy of FanPix): Olivia de Havilland Vivien Leigh Elizabeth Taylor Audrey Hepburn Maybe Hayley will be as lucky as these Academy Award-winning actresses were. After all, Katherine Jenkins wore a Marilyn Monroe-styled dress at the 2006 Classical Brits. So, perhaps Hayley should try modeling a dress after these classic beauties.

The dress is lovely, jillian. You are quite a fashion expert! I agree that Hayley has often sported a "vintage" look. Her outfits at the 07 Pink Panther Ball and the 08 Classical Brits Launch particularly come to my mind. Hayley is such a demure beauty; the old-fashioned glamor seems to fit her very well. Here are some other ideas for Hayley's Classical Brit dress from another fashion icon, Jacqueline Kennedy: www.metmuseum.org/special/Jacqueline_Kennedy/Kennedy_images.htm
