Well, okay. I'm just saying she's wearing it a lot more than other colors lately, that's all. She's worn plenty of black dresses throughout her career (as I mentioned), both in concert and not, but she usually wore a wider variety of colors. I'm not saying this is good or bad, it's just an observation... and also a way to keep this forum alive while we wait for the interesting news that I'm starting think will never come... Day after day after day of ... NOTHING! I personally have never really been able to get away with wearing black because I just don't look good in it at all. I look even worse in orange or brown! I never wear yellow or red, either. I think a wine red would be okay on me, though. I've never even bought anything in those colors. I don't mind not wearing them, since I don't really care for them anyway. Oh, and even sometimes white I find makes me look washed out, too. I pretty much wear clothes in varying shades and patterns of blue, purple, and green. Although on this forum I'm known to rave about nice clothes and outfits from afar, as for myself, I'm rarely ever what you'd call stylish or fashionable. I'm just the top & jeans kind of person. I do wear tops that are nice colors or patterns, though, so I'm not dressing down everyday of my life, or anything. Except when you work at a home improvement store, there's really nothing to dress up for. And when you're short, petite, and look like you're 12 years old, it's extremely difficult to find clothes that not only fit, but are also age appropriate! I feel like I can't get away with more age-appropriate styles (30 years old), because most clothes that women my age might use to create a mature-looking outfit all run too big. Even so-called petite section are sometimes no different than the "regular" section. Lots of women's tops run big in even the Small, and many brands/stores don't carry XS. And when they do, XS small tops are nice and flatter my figure (what little I have), but the problem is my figure is just very petite, and teenager-looking. I go for tops that have some sort of V-neck or scoop neck, because I find they are flattering and feminine, but I avoid things like big T-shirts. For some reason long T-shirts with high necklines seem to really give me a child-like look. T-shirts always run big, so that makes it worse. I really dislike T-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. anyway, as I don't find them appealing attire in general, but of course it's worse for me. I did buy a Seahawks T-shirt in January, and it fit great... only because I bought it from the boys' section! LOL I'm sure none of this is the least bit interesting, though, but it's certainly frustrating for me.

Good that you think about it Libby. Me, I never think about any of that stuff. I just assume that everything looks awful. I suppose it comes with age. When my wife was alive, some of my clothes used to mysteriously disappear from time to time. Maybe Sue had better taste than me!

I was looking through this thread from the beginning and there are a lot of pictures and links that aren't working. It's there any way to fix this?

I did buy a Seahawks T-shirt in January, and it fit great... only because I bought it from the boys' section! LOL I'm sure none of this is the least bit interesting, though, but it's certainly frustrating for me. I find your post regarding clothing sizing interesting, as I am nearly in the same situation! I also agree that Hayley has (and looks lovely) been preferring darker colors. I work in a mail-order receiving place, offering just about everything imaginable under a dozen clothing companies. It's an office environment; but I prefer a t-shirt and shorts/jeans. Also, during my two 10-minute breaks and half of my 30-minute lunch I am outside doing my aerobic walking, so casual is the key. I do dress up a bit more in the winter. Wearing bright colors/stripes/designs just isn't me. Now, being as slim as I am, a small shirt or sweater might be too small in the shoulders, but a medium is usually too big (very long sleeves or needing to tuck the shirt in). Jeans are harder yet; I take size 30 waist and 30 length but finding that in stores is next to impossible. I usually end up buying a 32 length and cuffing the jeans. Skinny jeans are slightly better but those are made to sit below the hips which just leads to more cuffing. Some of the schools around here have already started session, so this is the best time of the year to find some of the best clothing discounts. Winter inventory is high, and summer stock is favorably discounted. But I find clothes shopping frustrating, having to make due with buying something I am not completely happy with. And yet I literally will wear clothes until they fall apart. We've seen Hayley wear some very elegantly-designed dresses. She also looks very stylish in a lovely pantset, as she has the height to really make that red-carpet entrance. I would even suggest that Hayley can perhaps start a fashion line of her own...something casual yet smart for any occasion. Libby, I am 42 but can pass for 28! Thankfully I have not been carded this year, and family friends have stopped asking if I am still at school!

My biggest clothing problem is probably T-shirts not being wide enough at the shoulders. I have broad shoulders and a lot of T-shirts at the sleeves make me look like I'm wearing a kids shirt! Nevermind the fact that it fits everywhere else!

Haha, I guess it's comforting to know others find clothes shopping and/or fashion frustrating, as well. Jeans are hard for me, as well. I used to find jeans in women's size 1-3 all the time, but nowadays, I really can't find anything. Women's jeans are always too big these days. Juniors' jeans are the tight skinny jeans that, again, enhance the youthful look, or have huge flares/bell-bottoms, or have too many buttons in the front (who has time to deal with that many buttons every time you put them on or take them off?? LOL). Or worse, they come pre-tattered! I can never understand people buying expensive jeans that come already ripped! How ridiculous, when you can just go rip your own old jeans for free! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif For general clothes shopping, I mainly stick with the thrift stores, because there's such a wide variety of brands that I'm bound to find something that fits me. Some tops are Small, others are XS, so really, it all depends on brand. However, even there I struggle to find jeans, though I used to occasionally find some. So often the jeans or pants in the smallest women's section are in strange styles, are way too small and skinny, or something. I now only buy jeans at Old Navy, and they're girls' boot cut size 14! However, these jeans have declined a bit since I first started buying them. They used to fit perfectly. However, my more recent purchases are starting to seem the tiniest bit looser in the waist and leg area. Baggy pants are definitely not the ideal thing for someone trying not to look childish. But, of course, when you're buying the largest size in a children's line of clothing, I guess it's inevitable. I even started ordering them online instead of at the store, since I already knew they fit, and the nearest store isn't really all that near to me. I'm dreading the day they start wearing out. However, I've discovered that these Old Navy jeans are lasting much longer than jeans in other brands, so there's that, too. Oh, and the black pants I wore to Hayley's concert were a girls' uniform pants from Old Navy, and I think they're an even smaller size, size 12! The size 14 was too long! Paige, both mine and your experiences makes me dislike T-shirts all the more. I have some that I wear to bed, and they're usually ones with birds or flowers on them, not any sports or boring brand names on them. The only sport-related one I have is the boys' Seahawks football T-shirt. Specificially, it has the #25 and Richard Sherman's name on it (he's an interceptor). One advantage to wearing kids' clothes... they're cheaper! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifGoing back on topic, I like how Hayley's most recent black dress looked in her latest instagram, as well.

Here's her black dress again: And I almost forgot about this one from last August! Joe, your comment about pant sets reminded me about it.

So, she's finally changed it up! No black this time! I don't think black fits the pink picnic theme, anyway. This isn't pink, either, but it's a great summery outfit nonetheless. I did notice a certain other singer whom some HWI members admire was wearing black. That seems a bit funeral-y to me, and that's a little off-putting when you're promoting a charity that focuses on a disease that claims far too many lives. Hayley's bright, cheerful summery outfit was much more appropriate. It's actually a great pattern for a picnic theme, IMO. And yes, I'm sure Hayley's outfit was simply a long-sleeve version of this dress pictured here: Hi, Just found out, her dress is from TOP SHOP......the same fabric....but not the long sleeves.....in my opinion very similar. Greetz Joyce Thanks for finding this, Joyce!

The neckline and waistline are also different. But the pattern is the same. Orange is a good color for Hayley

As James says, she looks good in anything. I look icky in orange, as I mentioned before. LOL And yes, her dress has a V-neckline, so to better display the necklace she wore. As for the waistline, I wonder if hers has some sort of tie on it. You can't see, but the way the top and bottom parts come together make me think there might be one. Here's one of the photos:

The waistline does look lower than the Top Shop photo. It does look like there is some kind of tie or elastic. As her dress looks shorter, I wonder if the sleeves were made from the fabric that was "cut off" Lol

Personally I hate the material (I think it looks like curtaining but then I am a male). Having said that Hayley looks stunning in it.

LOL Trust me, Jim, I'd rather see that pattern on a dress than on curtains, even kitchen curtains! LOL Those would be gaudy curtains! LOL But for a summery, picnic dress, and on Hayley, it looks great.

I've seen the picture on the right before however, I don't remember seeing the profile and back shots of her hair before.
