I can't find any dresses on the Painted Black website that look like the one she's wearing on the front cover of Hushabye.   Hi Libby! I'm just guessing they took photos in a number of outfits - they probably got some dresses from a few places and chose a photo that would look good with the clouds  |

After seeing all the glamorous dresses in that video, I'm really wondering why they chose the plainest one of all for the front cover! And why does it look so brown, when in the video, it looked to be a much prettier green? I've wondered about why they chose that color instead of any other color. I went through all the colors in my head, and I actually think they made a good choice. Red doesn't seem right for a baby album. Bright red wouldn't look right with the pale blue, and deep red seems more associated with romantic love, or vampires. LOL Orange would be too bright and wild, and ugly with the background, unless they used a peachy orange. But even so... no, not orange. Yellow, again too bright and sunny. Green is okay. I think if they had left it the more grassy, spring green color it looked like in the trailer, it would've been okay, but maybe it would've been too Kermit the Frog. LOL Blue, even a dark blue, wouldn't stand out very well. Purple might have worked, like a magenta-purple, not a dark purple. Pink would go fine, since everyone thinks of pink and blue as baby colors. However, she used pink for Paradiso, and maybe they didn't want to make it look too babyish. I mean, the songs are babyish enough, no matter what Jon Cohen says. I'm still a little mad at him for misleading us. White would have her disappearing into the clouds, and black, too depressing and ominous. Silver or gray, too close to the light blue of the sky behind. Actually, a teal color would have looked good, too, but maybe it would still be too bright. So I guess the army green shade they chose is okay, after all, just not that pretty on its own. Hey, wasn't that sparkly dress I like kind of a teal color? More blue than green, though. I think I need to watch the video again, just so I can recall all the dresses better. Or, Taylor, you could make more screen shots. Even better idea! |

I like the Paradiso one better, though. I think that one makes her look sort of fairytale-ish! She just needs a sparkling silver tiara and a magic wand, and she'd be all set to be in a little girl's dream. LOL |

Haha! When I saw the paradiso cover pic I was instantly inspired to do a painting of her with long hair after watching Tangled! She'd be the perfect Rapunzel with all her grace and beauty XD She should be singing "Flowers gleaming glow..." |
