Hi Graeme, Woah... ha ha ha -- gee that photo gave me a fright when I first saw it after quickly scrolling down the page! I feel like shouting out to little Hayley 'Look behind you!!!!" It sort of looks like big Hayley is sneeking up on her with ill intent! :rollin This really should go in 'Funny Pictures of Hayley' thread! Now that I'm over my shock, that's a cool dress! Are there any more photos of that party or similar events?

Hello Graeme. Thanks for posting those photographs. Unfortunately three of them are well over the forum limit, so I removed the image tags to leave clickable links. If you can compress the files to 100KB or less, you are welcome to repost them on the forum. Best Wishes, Richard

My intention wasn't to scare you but just to get a better idea of the dress pattern & shape.Hayley has a very neat figure so she wears figure hugging dresses to advantage. But on looking at it I realise that the big Hayley menacing the smaller Hayley is what appears to be happening. But I wasn't about to blur out those beautiful facial expressions of hers was I ? The blurry one on the left is useful only to show that the dress is quite long & has an eneven hemline. Because Hayley is such a defined character, the strong pattern suits her well I think. If I remember rightly those (3 pics) shots were taken by one of the USA fans who managed to get to a Celtic Woman Tour after party. I'm going to hunt up the concert event now. Here it is : hwi.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=cwwithhw&action=display&thread=1371&page=15#32531Graeme

Thanks for posting that thread, Graeme! I really enjoyed reading about Caitlin's time at the concert! I also found this photo which illustrates my point about Hayley getting the best dress! If I was any of the other CW girls I would have looked down the line and been rather upset! I suppose they must look eye catching on stage. I also saw this photo Stephanie posted (too bad the bigger image appears to be lost). That's a rather flash bag! Here's another of Stephanie's CW photos. Hayley seems to be the only one not fully in colour co-ordination! (I suppose she has a little lavender on her white dress). I do have to say that I think that Chloe (2nd from the right) won the lucky dip of getting the best dress here. How did the CW costumes work? Could the individual singer choose, or were the dresses decided for them? Edit:Stephanie has a different shot of the white/lavender dress. Yikes. One thing I've noticed about the CW costumes is that they don't seem too keen on flattering the female form. It seems to go from the dresses being tightly bound from the bust to well down below the hips -- which is hardly forgiving for even the most slender figure -- to quite baggy and bunched in the most unfortunate places. I apologise if I sound harsh .. I've just always had issues with the CW style of dress.

Hi Graeme Hayley looks so young in this photo. I believe she was 19 at that time. Thats where I first saw her. I traveled to Nashville Tn to see her with C W as she did not appear in the St Louis showing. Hayley and Meav were alternating months on that tour. The moment I heard her voice I knew she was something special. Her voice is mesmerizing. She is the total package. She has beauty, charm, class, and she treats people as though she has known them forever. She is indeed a very special person. I'm delighted to have found her and I will see her as often as I can.

Hi Graeme I actually love your photo montage - Hayley's expression on the two main images is priceless. I also like the way Chloe is looking at the camera and could be laughing at the viewer's reaction. I'd get rid of the blue woolly hat though! Best wishes Grant

I stumbled across this comment made by a leading New Zealand stylist, Stephanie Rumble on 12th September 2008 in the infonews.co.nz website during NZ fashion week. She was commenting on several famous New Zealanders fashion and this is what she said about Hayley i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifHayley Westenra: Hayley has grown up in the limelight. She has a lovely voice and figure and on the whole looks great. She is a good teen icon as she wears classy and stylish clothing without looking trashy which some teenagers manage with ease.

Think I remember seeing that quote before - worth repeating here though as it is most relevant and also very true. I just can't fathom some of the teenage fashions these days Mind you, I never was very trendy! Best wishes Grant

Oh come come, Jillian, the last three (or may be two) pictures on your post show clearly lime. I think this is where we have to say our respective eyes are not sending the same colour analysis to our respective brains--and I am a printer! I've got PMS to prove it. No Grant, that's not a version of the old LMS (London Midland and Scottish Railway) but stands for 'Pantone Matching System'. An internationally recognised master colour chart which ensures that printers at opposite sides of the globe are referring to precisely the same colour even if their individual eyes are not.
By the by, Grant, coming back to railways (LMS) isn't there a train 'green' that is in fact yellow because the director choosing and naming the colour was blind to colour differences?

I reckon that those white dresses that Hayley has worn would have actually been part of a bridal collection -- most elaborate white dresses are! I think that it'd be really hard for a someone like Hayley who has worn so many spectacular dresses to pick out something for a wedding. You'd want it to be really special, but I think that it would be hard to find something that didn't just feel like another performance dress! Interesting observation Jillian. One of my more flamboyant vests (waistcoats) came from a bridal collection. It was expensively embroidered and unfortunately is now a bit tight, so it is as well I did not order it specially. Normally that costs me near to £500 but I picked it up by chance in a bridal range sell off for £20! Definitely a bargain! I'm sure Hayley is just as resourceful, even if she is looking like a million dollars (as usual! ). Peter S.

No! But he's very keen to be thought to be 'in with the crowd'. Notice where his hand is. Hayley was once quoted as 'observing' that 'President Bush was not perhaps that orientated musically' (or some similarly tactful remark). Peter S.
