Hi Maya,
I really appreciate your doing this. That is my favourite song on HSJS1, and to hear her sing it in Japanese - WOW! I can't wait!

Now at HWI see belowfile name: NHK-TV Haley.wmv The picture quality is not fully good enough but it is not too bad, I think. The size is about 24MB. Anyway, I have now uploaded the video to HWI webspace so I will provide that link below and I will change your link as well so you can free up your own webspace, which I think is completely full now! Wow. I'm just so impressed with the effort Hayley is making in Japan. It must be hard to learn and sing those songs in Japanese -- especially seeing as she just finished the Valentines Tour and the ROD tours and went straight to Japan.
Hayley definitely works very hard - obviously she just lives and breathes music and performing.

Hi everyone.
I am glad that you like it very much. I already sent a better quality version by FTP to Dave today.
In the NHK-TV show, the emcee Sen Odagiri interviewed Hayley and explained the song. I just will try the translation of it. Hayley's part is not needed for you to translate and I just write a few words of the beginning. ------------------------------------- Sen Odagiri (an emcee of the show): I would like to introduce a diva originally from New Zealand. Miss. Hayley Westenra. It's nice to see you again, Hayley. Last year I asked you to sing “Amazing Grace” in the show and after that, it gave people a lot to talk about. You sing many Japanese songs. What attract you to sing Japanese songs?
Hayley: I love them because of …..
Sen Odagiri: Oh we feel happy to hear it. Today I ask you to sing “Flower” choosing from those songs. Flower for all the people's heart is the theme of this song. What do you pour and think about this song?
Hayley: It's a very positive song and it …..
Sen Odagiri: Oh, you think it that way. Now I want you sing the song. Would you prepare for it?
Hayley: Arigatougozaimasu.
Sen Odagiri: Wow, she is getting better and better in speaking Japanese. This song “Flower” is now sung in about 30 different languages. It is recognized as one of the Japanese songs in the world. I ask Hayley to sing both in Japanese and in English. Now listen to “Flower” for all the people's heart.
Hayley: singing in Japanese then in English and again in Japanese for the final part.
After the applause, Sen Odagiri: Thank you Hayley for singing “Flower” for all the people's heart. -----------------------------------
Best wishes. Maya

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the even better quality version.
That is a truly awesome performance. It makes the version on the CD sound almost deadpan. Nicola, I think somebody might be listening! I always loved that song anyway, and that is a superb recording of the best performance of it I have ever heard. Quite apart from the beautiful way it sounds in Japanese.
Thank you Dave, Thank you Maya and Thank you Hayley.
I don't suppose there is any chance you will perform that in the UK sometime.

Could someone please extract the song from the interview and convert it to MP3 format? I don't think I have the technology to do it myself. Best wishes Grant
