Yeah thanks for the Kiwi Commitment Ross!  We can't not have a record of this performance!!! I've decided to ask a few friends to see if anyone has a DVD or HD recorder... In case I'm not free to watch it on either of the days. If I do manage to find a recorder (or someone to record it), I'll let you know Dave. (as a backup) |

It would be great if you could be our backup here, in case I ultimately fail to get this recording from other sources, I am now a lot more hopeful about that and of course, we musn't miss out on this performance. Hayley's involvement in the opening ceremony has been confirmed by Bedlam Management. There is no truth in the rumour that she will also be entering the 1500 meters!  Roger Hi Roger Hayley may not be but Russel Watson certainly is since he is headlining a concert at Kenwood House on Saturday!. Martin |

Now, I happen to know that the Games Opening ceremony started 40 minutes ago (at 12:30 BST) and that Hayley and Russell Watson are scheduled to perform in a 40 minute slot at the end, starting at 14:11 BST (one hour from now). Well after three days setting up a new satellite system and computer satellite tuner, it's time to let the cat out of the bag. I've just watched The World Games opening ceremony live on the official satellite feed, in high definition. Fingers crossed that I can convert the satellite files into an uploadable format! Hayley was magnificent and I don't think I've ever heard her sing better. Performances:Hayley - Amazing GraceShin & Hayley - The Moon Represents My HeartRussell - Volare Hayley & Russell - The Prayer (WOW!)Shin - My Future Ain't A Dream Hayley - Nada Sousou.Hayley & Russell - Pokarekare AnaRussell - Nessun Dorma Shin, Hayley, Russell, Tiger Huang - We Are The ChampionsAs I sit here watching the fireworks finish, I still can't quite believe it's worked - but I expect to spend the rest of the day learning how to convert all this into normal video files, it will not be easy and I cannot even get a screenshot yet (though I can view the recordings)... but there must be a way. I have 20 GB of raw satellite files to play with, please be patient, it will take a long time... my biggest challenge ever. Superb performances!Cheers, Dave |

Many thanks Dave for the update and your Herculean efforts! Can you now also pick up transmissions from the International Space Station? I hadn't realised that Hayley was down to sing several songs as I thought that she was just dueting with Russell on "The Prayer". Can't wait to hear Hayley sing "We are the Champions".
