Hey everyone,
I usually avoid paying too much attention to all of the new young sopranos who come onto the scene-- at least until they prove themselves! And I certainly avoid posting about them.
But I thought this was interesting enough to warrant sharing, in the possibility of generating some discussion. (Mind you, I say "interesting" in the most objective way. I haven't formed any personal opinions about her talent and potential at all.)

Mogul could have singer’s key to fame
Feb 11 2009 by Catherine Mary Evans, South Wales Echo
A CARDIFF teenager is hoping to become Wales’ new sweetheart after being talent scouted by the music mogul who discovered Katherine Jenkins.
Soprano Annelies Kruidenier, 14, of Pengam Green, was spotted on YouTube by former Rive Droite Music managing director Harry Cowell, who originally signed Neath-born diva Jenkins in 2004.
He was so impressed with the Llandaff Cathedral School pupil that she was recording her first two demo tracks within a week – Per Sempre and Sweet Wales.
Her manager Albert Samuel, who heads Albert Samuel Management and Mission Control Artist Agency, one of the most successful management companies in the UK, is currently in talks with top record labels to secure a lucrative recording contract.
Mum Jayne Lloyd-Lewis said: “Harry saw her on YouTube, rang me up and said she was absolutely phenomenal and in a different league. We met him about three weeks ago and Annelies was in the recording studio the following week.
“He thinks she could be absolutely huge and sees a gap in the market since Katherine Jenkins went to America.
“He remembers the first time he saw Katherine and sees Annelies as a beautiful, talented young girl who could become the new Welsh rugby mascot and sweetheart of Wales.”
Last year, Annelies suffered the heartbreak of being forced to quit the X Factor because, at just 13 years old, she was underage.
For anyone wishing to catch a glimpse of a star in the making, she will be singing on the eve of the Wales v England Six Nations encounter at the Special Rugby Gala Dinner at St David’s Hotel and Spa on Friday. And on Saturday, she will be performing at the Parc and Dare Theatre in Treorchy.
