Hello everyone and a big thank you to everyone who offered comment or congratulations on my 50th concert last night.
It truly was a very special moment and it all feels a bit surreal just now - I keep seeing Hayley looking down at me and saying "Hello Grant" and me replying "Hello Hayley" in front of all those people and thinking WOW!! what a thing to happen.
The last time I remember Hayley addressing someone from the stage was almost four years ago at my first concert and on that occasion, it was Belinda Hayley was acknowledging, so it really was a huge honour to bestow on someone.
Only a few weeks after that, Hayley let me know that she'd remembered me from a previous concert and I still remember THAT as though it were yesterday.
Of course, it's because of the special moments that Hayley creates that we love and support her with such enthusiasm and, without doubt, the reason I reached that milestone in the first place.
Best wishes Grant

Hello Grant and all,
Congrats on your special recognition during the performance!
I am sorry I cant be as happy for you as I should, because as you know this is a bitter sweet thing for us in the places Hayley never comes.
I cannot afford to travel so I have no realistic chance of ever seeing her Live or meeting her.
Sorry for my blue mood Monte

Hi Grant, Ben and Karsten,
Glad this was a special night. But Hayley's concerts always are.
Congratulations on your milestone Grant. I have a little way to go to catch you, St Albans will be my 10th. And you will have been at eight of them!
The thing is I have never forgotten any of them. All of them were different and all of them were awesome. I don't know how I would feel about repaying 50 concerts in my mind, but I have no problem with nine! And for Hayley to acknowledge you like that -awesome. And as Hayley herself said, well deserved.
And Ben, yes I told you so! I hope to meet you at a Hayley concert one day.
So thank you to both of you for your reports.
And thank you both and Karsten for the photos. This is another place that gets the thumbsup for photography.
Perhaps we should set up a page on HWI where we rate various venues on their attitude to photography. I know I would find such a thing very helpful when deciding which concerts to attend.
Martin

Hi Monte
Sorry to have caused you to be blue. I wish everyone on earth who wanted to could have the opportunity to see Hayley live, but the world is a very big place and Hayley just one tiny part of it.
Best wishes Grant

Oh no Oh no Oh no!!!! I look freakish - i can't smile! Hayley and I are polar opposites haha! Embarassing!!! No, you don't look freakish at all! However, I do sympathize with you about smiling. I only smile naturally if I think something is funny, and when I laugh. Also, if someone is smiling at me, I can manage better. But I am definitely not good at smiling for pictures. If I laugh, then I usually end up looking ridiculous. So, even if ever get to meet Hayley, I don't know if I want to get my picture with her, because I won't want everyone to see how weird I look! Most people won't think I look old enough to be me anyway! You would never guess that it was me. I'm afraid Hayley will think I'm some little girl, too, even though I'm 2 1/2 years older than her! I can tell her of course, but it makes it kind of embarrassing.

Hi Ben, congratulations on your first (of many) Hayley concerts, Enjoyed the report no end (even if I am a little teeny weeeny bit jealous) . But Ben ! How could you ? just how could you close your eyes when you were just a few feet away from Hayley when she was singing, much of Hayley's performance is also visual, the hand gestures, the eyes, the gentle swaying movements during instrumental sections, the serenity of her face is probably one of the most consistent things about her live performances, It imbues the audience with a sense of calm, peace and a feeling of wellbeing. I do understand the closing of the eyes when concentrating on a piece of music, when listening for the magic. It is a bit of a problem if you do it while you are driving though I see you got your hair cut since the summer, you are lookin' fine, don't be so down on yourself, In my first picture with Hayley I was grinning like the village idiot, Couldn't get the smile off my face with a crowbar if ye tried .

Congratulations Grant
FIFTY HAYLEY CONCERTS that is some feat in such a short time, i would think the only people who have been to more Hayley concerts are Hayley herself and perhaps Steve Ab. I wish I could go to as many, but I am geographically challenged and also have to do a bit of work an odd day. To have your fiftieth concert acknowledged by Hayley herself was indeed fitting and demonstrates she is indeed the kind and charming woman you have been constantly telling us she is. It adds a completely new level to Hayley Wowed.

I'm sorry Ben but going by your symptoms at the concert I am afraid you are the latest victim of the disease Hayleyitis. Although there is no cure I suggest you go to more concerts to help keeping it under control.
