Hi everyone, Thanks to Roger posting a new NZ Stuff article here, I've come across a new video on the NZ Stuff website (click below) : Hayley Westenra shoots a music video
Hayley Westenra films her latest music video at Mona Vale.
Video: Daniel Tobin.There is a lot of very interesting stuff in Hayley's interview... including clips from Hayley's new Japanese Album! If anyone is unable to play the video well from the NZ website, I will upload it to HWI but for now, use the NZ Stuff link above. I suspect that we'll be referring to this excellent video many times in the future... Hayley comes across as being very much on form, relaxed and back to her old self. Thanks for posting this link. Hayley certainly does look better again, all rosy-cheeked - it's good to know she's recovered so well.

Hello Dave and everyone
I am delighted to see this video and am now totally reassured that Hayley is 110% back to her normal self. She looks very well and happy for her time at home.
I'm also pleased to hear that she's having a singing lesson with Dame Malvina. I guess to reassure herself that she is fit for her 30+ concerts here in the UK and Japan. I'm sure the 'Great Lady' will also be concerned that she doesn't do anything to damage her voice.
I'm very much looking forward now to welcoming our 'Special Girl' back to the UK.

Hi all,
Do any of you know where Mona Vale is? I'm sure Graeme knows. It is 28km north of Sydney Australia, a city I had the pleasure of visiting and being shown around by Graeme last August.. So Hayley is in Australia?
That is what Wikipedia would have you believe. But there is another Mona Vale, in Christchurch New Zealand. Perhaps less well known This seems much more likely!

Yes, I am becoming more and more convinced that I have to see this place. I visited Christchurch in England last year, and it too has a river called Avon. But "shining beauty", well doesn't that describe Hayley as well? On stage, she shines like the sun! Perhaps that is a reflection of the beautiful place that she comes from.

No Martin, It's not our Mona Vale here (as you described) but a Christchurch one. I'm just looking it up. What a delightful video....like being with her almost. I found myself wishing I was a bit older. Graeme  PS Have found those gardens. The River Avon runs around them immediately before running around Hagley Park, which every Christchurch person relates to. Its address is 63 Fendalton Rd Riccarton. Google Earth will find it for you easily. |
