Please be aware the HWI/Google visitor map does NOT update in real-time. Rather it depends on me taking a screenshot at whatever time I'm checking the stats and then uploading same to the site. It *could* be made fully interactive, but unless someone out there can get their head around the humunguosly long Google API, PHP and Javascript pages, and then build the required database and php scripts needed to feed the display page, getting such a facilty (however desirable) onto the pages of HWI is simply NOT an option... Sorry. Even I have my limits! (and this is one of those limits!) Simon

Simon, I love the new picture at the top of the Forum,Brings back some happy memories, That bit of land is nick named the Spit, The street that runs up the middle of it is called Rockinghorse Road,(strange Name isn't it) How do i know cos thats where i grew up we lived on the estuary side, which is great when the tides out for kids to play and ride bikes etc, and to sail ,boat and windsurf when the tides in. and when its hot we would go across the road and go to the beach, Belinda

Thanks Belinda! I did a good deal of searching to get what I hoped was just the right picture - in fact the section displayed is but a small portion from a much larger and far darker, almost sombre, image... I deliberately chose to feature "the Spit" due to its shape and prominence and the fact that it stood out (no pun intended) so well from the mainland. Of course, I'd NO idea it was one of "your" bits of NZ!! I selected seven images of NZ scenery - waterfalls, mountains, etc., but just the one town. Spoiled for choice almost. At one point I even suggested to Roger that we ask you, Belinda, to be the final judge and jury However, once I'd lightened up the image, Christchurch was the only real choice, bearing in mind its absolute relevancy to Hayley. So there you have it... A potted mini-history of the HWI Logo. Glad you like it. Simon

I see that the latest map on the visitors page displays ip contact in "French Polynesia", or is this Hayley on her way back to Blightey coming round the other way (against the clock)?
Who is our member in Tahiti? (Or on holiday in Tahiti).
