I'm feeling festive! Every Christmas all the music channels just play Christmas songs over and over again and their top Christmas charts. So I'd thought I'd make one of my own! Can you name your top ten Christmas songs? Or, if that's too difficult, name some of your favourites? Mine are listed here.

Excellent choice at No. 1 Nicola! My favourite Christmas songs are: 1. Pogues & Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale Of New York 2. Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You 3. John Lennon - Happy Xmas (War Is Over) 4. Slade - Merry Christmas Everybody (It's Christmaaaaaaasss!!) i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif5. Wham! - Last Christmas Although 2, 3, 4 and 5 are so far down the list compared to the Pogues and Kirsty MacColl. No Christmas song will ever come close to Fairytale of New York in my opinion. It should never be covered by anyone else. It is perfect as it is.

Yes, I agree, Fairytale is a good song. But my tastes tend to be more traditional. So my favourite Christmas songs are mostly carols. Especially when sung by Hayley and I dug out a My Gift to You and a few videos to get my fix, now that the Barbican concert has been cancelled.
Songs I Iove to hear her sing are
O Holy Night The Angel Gabriel Mary Did You Know Silent Night
Of course there are many more that I like too, and good as some of the modern "secular" Christmas songs are. I still prefer traditional carols at Christmas.

I also like Hayley's versions of 'Do You Hear What I Hear?' and 'Silent Night'.

Hi all
I guess my favourite "modern" Christmas songs are John Lennon's, The Pogues and the original Band Aid's.
Of Hayley's, I love her version of Little Drummer Boy with Paul Byrom. And I'd love to hear her sing the English arrangement of O Little Town of Bethlehem which remains my favourite carol.
Kind reagrds

Hi! My favorite Christmas songs from Hayley are "O Holy Night" and "Gabriel's Message". But actually I like every Christmas song when it's sung by Hayley. From other performers my favorite song is "Warm This Winter" by Gabriella Cilmi. I listen to Gabriella a lot lately but unfortuneately her Christmas song was only released as a download so far in Germany. A CD with this song is only available in the UK. But it isn't very long now to the Valentines Tour and I will be in the UK again. Thomas

I can not rank my favourite Christmas songs; that would be impossible!
Some of my favourites are Mary Did You Know, Deck The Halls, Oh Christmas Tree, Silent Night, Carol of the Bells, Ding Dong Merrily on High, Sleigh Ride, Silver Bells, and Happy Christmas (War is Over). The last and Carol of the Bells I like because of the memories they recall.
Merry Christmas!

O Holy Night is my favorite by far. Hayley sings it very beautifully on Graeme's DVD. However, the most incredible version is by Josh Groban, on his first Live in Concert CD/DVD set. I also like God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, It Came Upon the Midnight Clear by Josh Groban, Christmas Canon by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (just the one with the children's choir), Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring, O Come All Ye Faithful, Silent Night. Josh Groban's It Came Upon the Midnight Clear is the best version I've ever, not just because of his voice, but the arrangement is wonderful, too, especially towards the end. Here are some of my top tunes... Top 5 Traditional Christmas Songs: 1. Mary, Did You Know? ... This song strikes me as anything but traditional, yet the more I play it or hear it sung by various artists on the radio (public radio, that is) the more it feels very fresh and unique this time of year. But traditional? Not quite, not quite yet. I would give it another few years. Jollies, Steve

Hello Libby! 'It Came Upon the Midnight Clear' is one of my favourite Christmas carols too, but I prefer the other tune as sung by Julie Andrews HERE. It probably wouldn't suit Josh Groban's voice. Richard

Well, Josh's version of the usual version is still my favorite. The whole thing is great. Even if he's not your favorite singer, you might still enjoy the way it's done.
