Hi Jillian.
I think your post very sensitive and apposite. Because our admin had rightly wished to block intrusion in her private life [which request we need to remember in this interchange and also extend such respect to Rhydian] I withheld a post I intended making just before that happened but I think it is perhaps appropriate here. In getting her father to counter the rumour-mongers she specifically took the matter out of BOTH the personal and professional arenas. Through its source (her father) it was an authoritative statement yet officially-speaking it was an oblique source without comment. It simply put matters straight. Behind that decision was great thought, great care, great consideration for all concerned. It was typically, great Hayley. There may well be a great musical affinity and hey! They are both professional people suddenly having time on their hands and wishing to share their respective experiences. Simple, straight forward, unworthy of innuendoed comment, personal or professional.
Enzian's link is a helpful reference point for all of us. By the way Enzian, welcome here too where hopefully you will find all you might want to know about Hayley.

Whilst I did state my first post on here would be my last, I (of course!) returned to see how the thread was progressing and am genuinely pleased with how my opening post was received. It wasn't meant to be incendiary in nature but I'm sure with less intelligent members of forums elsewhere could have been perceived that way. Thanks for your responses, peeps.
It was all going so well until I read the frankly ridicilous post by Libby on the previous page. Seriously, anyone who can describe that kiss as a 'disgusting smooch' has definite 'issues' that need urgent attention . Quite unbelievable.
It really does make me wonder what the reaction would be if Hayley was in any way 'linked' to some of the more 'infamous' celebrities out there instead of a deeply religious, monogamous, trusting, charitable, caring, basically lovely man like Rhydian. How about Peter Docherty, Libby?

Hi Specialedition, good to see you posting here again Whilst there may not be many people on this forum who would share Libby's view, she is an active and well respected member of this forum and is entitled to voice her opinion. It really does make me wonder what the reaction would be if Hayley was in any way 'linked' to some of the more 'infamous' celebrities out there instead of a deeply religious, monogamous, trusting, charitable, caring, basically lovely man like Rhydian. How about Peter Docherty? I think we would probably feel the same as you would if Rhydian was similarly linked to .... well, I'll leave you to think of a name to fill the gap. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifHayley is very special to everyone here and I guess we just want her to be happy and successful. Reading some of the comments made by some Rhydian fans it seems they feel that they are good for each other career wise and, if they're good friends as well, that's great. I just hope that Hayley soon repays the compliment so that we can hear a live duet at one of Hayley's concerts. Best wishes Grant

........... I personally thought the duet was magical how they portrayed it, it is after all a dialogue between two people in love and they both captured it perfectly and innocently - and I am pretty sure that is how it was meant to be sung. Yes enzian ....agree entirely. I spent some time yesterday going thru rhydian youtubes, including X factor ones. He is shatteringly good as a singer & a master showman I was spellbound....& he's so unassuming. I notice Simon Cowell said : " you're interesting" to him. Also Simon & the other judges gave him their own standing ovation in one of the clips. How could anyone like him not be on stage Hayley & Rhydian have many powerful characteristics in common !!! I'd love to see them perform more together.....great magic. Graeme

Hello everyone, We've had one or two strong opinions expressed following Rhydian's recent duets with Hayley - and some equally strong reactions. Everyone is entitled to express approval or disapproval, even strongly... but I'd like to remind all members that the use of particularly emotive or inflammatory words should be avoided. The line has been crossed a couple of times in recent posts and we came close to deleting the "offending" words so please, anyone who has done this, choose your words carefully in future; let's keep it cool. Personally, I have liked Rhydian's singing ever since I first heard him on that TV reality show and from what I read at the time, he seemed to be quite a reserved person with an "interesting" stage presence which, I suspect, was and is in fact, part of his appeal. I very much enjoyed viewing the YouTube videos of their duet. Cheers, Dave

Hi Jillian, I don't know about you but I save all the notable youtubes using realplayer download system....you end up with .flv files. You never know when they'll be taken off & that would really be a shame & a waste. Thanks for those that you dug up.....I always read the comments & one said of "Vow to thee my country" that Rhydian sings like a horse. I fail to understand why people can't see greatness when it's staring them in the face. AAAAAGGGHHH !! (that's more like a horse) Graeme

It's interesting that he didn't win. But I usually find the runner ups in these types of shows always do better than the winners. Maybe it's because they aren't bound to the contracts of the show and when they do sign a record deal, it's on their own terms.
I think that the contestant that won (Leon Jackson) hasn't had a very good time -- he's been dropped from his label, but Rhydian is going strong with about 600,000 albums sold and a sell out tour.
I think that a lot of contestants have trouble because it's easier to just play karaoke on the show and sound like a star than to actually go out in the real world and make your own way. If you're just a pop singer with an unremarkable voice, you need that big kick of originality to keep afloat.
The fortunate thing for Rhydian is that he has an incredible voice and has found a niche in the Classical Crossover area where the whole idea is to sing other people's songs -- albeit very well.

I have a huge weakness for "the Impossible Dream" Likewise for "I Dreamed a Dream" & love both those musicals & the novels ......they tell a real story. I think I'm a Hayley - Rhydian fan, can't help myself. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifGraeme

I wonder what Rhydian's next album will be like? I heard that he's making a new one. Maybe his first album was heavily influenced by what he did on X Factor. Do you think his next album will be more of a move back to his original classical roots? I like him singing classical pieces the most.

Hi Jillian, Thank you for all those links! I will check them later. I prefer female vocalists, but this video from XFactor with Rhydian singing "Phantom of The Opera" is BRILLIANT! Well, I just bought is album on Itunes! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifP.S. A warm welcome to all Rhydian's fans, now Hayley's fans too I guess, thank you so much for the pictures and videos!Greetings from Portugal, Paulo Correia

Thank you Paulo for your technical suggestions/links.
I'm exploring this area for the first time but trying to get the hang of my new Mac first as there is a lot within it but this sort of information is certainly helpful when working in windows.
