Well said, Roger, I fully support your sentiments, in our enthusiasm to wax lyrical on Hayley and our gain from those meetings it is too easy to forget we inadvertently 'rub it in ' for those just as enthusiastic but not blessed with the frequency of her visits. I think it fair to say that I think the error is largely by accident as our intention is sharing but it does no harm to just look at our post before sending and see how it reads from others' viewpoints. Peter S. Well, I'm not sure I agree on this one. I think we ought to ask those who might be affected what THEY think! When I go to a (Hayley) concert these days, it is in the expectation that I shall make notes, and if possible take photos as the opportunity arises, that if any good might later be posted on this forum. This means that whilst there, I am to some extent there on behalf of those who can't be but would like to be, and who will later read my report and see the photos. Since they can't be there, I and others who do the same, are their eyes and ears. I don't think that I should feel guilty about how many concerts I have been to, just be rather just glad and feel privileged that I have been able to do so. I know I enjoy reading concert reports from others immensely, and it is great to hear about concerts in other lands. I don't feel at all that I am having my nose rubbed in the fact that I wasn't there. This even applies to the ones that perhaps I should feel guilty about - ones that I could have got to easily but didn't bother! So if anything my guilt is about too few Hayley concerts, not too many. It feels much more insulting to members in places that never see Hayley from one year to the next to miss out on an easy opportunity to see her when it arises. Martin

Hi Martin,
Everything you have mentioned in your latest post is perfectly acceptable and I don't think I suggested otherwise. The forum exists for people like you to relay their experiences and photographs for the benefit of those who are unable to attend for whatever reason. There is certainly no reason why you should feel guilty about attending any amount of concerts. My only request was that we refrain from stating how many that might be because it can be extremely frustrating and disheartening to those who have very little chance of ever seeing her which, I suspect, was what Steve MacDonald had in mind.

Well this year has been a record for me in many ways 1. Getting to see Hayley in Concert (but meeting Hayley 3 times however brief in a few weeks and getting both my books & photo signed was a extremely big bonus) 2. Getting to see Katherine Jenkins in Concert (I've not had the chance/"Time to say... Hello") 3. Having the chance to get 2 holidays this year (not counting concerts) 4. This year was the first year I have had the chance to go on holiday for my birthday(I've only just got back. Thanks for the birthday messages everyone) Cheers Dean
Oh almost forgot 5. Having Bridgewater Hall in Feb & Glasgow in May (TBC)

I will always remember February when I followed Hayley and Dave Dobbyn (and Fiona) around the South Island of New Zealand with a lovely bunch of people from HWI. I have also seen a few Fiona concerts and got a lot more CDs of Hayley, Fiona, Connie Talbot and others. Now if I can just win Lotto then maybe in 2009 I could chase Hayley in the UK.

I can only speak for myself, and for me it's a privilege to come here and read the reports, see the photos and videos of the concerts that I can't be there... ...So Many thanks to all HWI members for bringing Hayley to whom is far away! Greetings from Portugal, Paulo Correia

Hi Ross, Belinda, Paolo & All I've been humming & harring about what I could say about the year 2008. First, & yes it seems like years ago, Marianne & I went to NZ & attended Kerikeri, Waipara & Blenheim concerts. They were brilliant, we met Hayley at each one & all the Westenras but Sophie at Kerikeri. We had a lot of time with Belinda especially & lots of laughs. I learnt what our photographers have to regularly go thru even when they've obeyed the rules.....I still don't get why !! We also had a pretty good tour of NZ North Island plus the Northern part of South Island. I'll stop here as I'd still like to comment on Hayley's incredible program throughout the rest of the year. More later, & Happy Christmas to Hayley & her family "just" across the water. Graeme & Marianne

I can not say for sure what I will actually remember about 2008, although my memory is good so likely it shall be a lot.
I hope I recall seeing Hayley 'live on tv,' amongst other things.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!
