Lovin' that last one of Jonathan Steve and nice to see that he's still wearing his British Heart Foundation red heart pin that I gave him in Bristol !! They are both so photogenic I don't think it matters what angle pics are taken of them

Fantastic photographs, Steve and Natalie! Did anybody capture the moment when Jonathan carried Hayley off the stage? That would be a major scoop. Best Wishes, Richard

Hi Grant and all. And there's me moaning about my train journey, despite which I am seriously thinking of doing without a car! In my case the end result was still horrendous in that it is still causing me grief. Clearly, I have to rethink my Hayley strategy. Just missed a train, no problem as two more followed and I had plenty of time, except the two more following didn't follow because apparently no one had bothered to turn up for work! They didn't make the announcement like that but that was its effect and fortunately well ahead of waiting for their nonappearance. Being in plenty of time I drove in to town, arriving about the time the next train that bothered to turn up would have pulled in to Berkhamsted. Haven't driven in London for years. Parked hopefully 'okay' as I later discovered was the case. Trepidation was nagging me for another reason, as I later discovered. That was why I gave a casual 'Hi!' to you guys as I passed the group in the street. I had skipped lunch and intended a full meal. I headed for the upper dining room in The Shakespeare's Head at the back of Liberty's. This I can highly recommend. I ducked the intended steak as they had cod on the menu (but neither duck nor grouse before Richard jumps in with a quick one!) and it was superbly presented with excellent quality chips, although they fell down somewhat on the peas which I had asked not to be 'mushy'. The alternative version was almost musket balls! Concerned I might be clamped or towed away, I left fairly quickly--what do they do, sellotape a note to the road where the car was parked, telling you what happened, or do you create a police hassle by reporting it stolen? Anyway, all was well and I was feeling relieved and relaxed yet something was nagging me. That something turned out to be a fox that perversely insisted in staring me out, face on, in the middle of the carriageway just as I flicked my main beam on. Being a silly soft old fool I am still aggrieved for its possible mate and possible cubs rather than the extensive damage it has caused my car, despite the fact they are technically vermin. Nonetheless a living entity is suddenly no more. The car was in excellent condition and would have seen me out as neither my father, who had only put 30,000 miles on the clock in 9 years or me who did 15,000 miles in three years were distance drivers. With prices crashing I can see the insurers writing it off. Or do I ignore their cash offer and handle the repairs myself? However, the new car I am likely to buy does 61 mpg and has a road fund tax of £35! Judging from your report, Grant, it seems one needs to travel the day before if going by rail! However, as I usually do make a weekend of a Hayley 'out of London' trip to see other things like exhibitions and museums perhaps I needn't be put off. Then there is the national coach system, I have just discovered that my AOP council card gives me free travel within the county and there is a discount system on National coach Express, or England wide on local services! Decisions, decisions, decisions! All because they can't run the trains reliably--and it is we who invented them! Now we can't run them! Peter S.

Has the line-up for Raven changed? A couple of the girls seem different in some photos.

Hi Folks,
Well Eastbourne sounds like it was as good as the Palladium, thanks to Dave for the fantastic photo's of the fireman's lift, and thanks to all the members from both HWI and Jonathan's Forum for their kind words regarding my contribution to this thread. Here are the last few from the Palladium.Steve H
