Sometimes it's ok to be redundant - thanks to the outstanding photographic and journalistic expertise of the colleagues I met in Bangor on Saturday. Travelling to Bangor, I expected to hear just a few songs from Hayley, as she was the special guest of the Bangor Ladies Choir. Instead, I experienced a performance that seemed 'to have it all'. I felt very glad to be there and welcomed, not least by the waves and cheery smiles from the silver 'coach' that seemed to alight, as if from a magic land ... and then, by the thoughtful invitation to come inside Kiwi land and enjoy a few brief words. The staff too at the Elim Centre were courteous, friendly and welcoming throughout. The performance itself was impressive, with the choir's contributions aptly chosen to integrate well with Hayley's repertoire. Hayley too seemed to be enjoying the occasion ... her introductions and comments were relaxed and informal and she seemed to express herself and engage the audience much more naturally than usual. The highlight for me was Nemunoki, especially how the subtle variations of Hayley's ( silken) tones seemed to dramatise the quiet emotiveness of this touching lullaby (under the silk tree). (No need to learn Japanese, with Hayley singing .... ) As my colleagues have already described so well the essence of this memorable concert, I'll indulge myself by posting just one little photo (taken by a helpful staff member at the Centre) ... so that some of you may say 'Hi', if you happen to notice a strange guy searching around for kiwis before this week's concerts. Wow, thanks to everyone for all these wonderful photos! New Hayley concert photos really seem to make my morning coffee taste so much better! (Although I almost needed two cups, considering the amount of time it took me to get through about 110 or so photos!).
Hayley looks absolutely beautiful as always -- I'm so in love with that black and gold dress! I wonder what designer made it? (Perhaps a question for someone that meets her sometime).
I wish that Hayley would do a YouTube video tutorial on how she does her hair and makeup as I would love to be able to recreate her look on myself --- believe me, I've tried, but I can never seem to get it right! (Ha ha -- that's kind of obsessive, isn't it? But it does look so good on her! Also, there's not a lot of female celebrities that do their make-up they way I like to myself --- most of them feel the need to put more an more on and end up looking like drag-queens. I think they need to be reminded that bronzer and fake tanner should only be used to create a natural look -- not an overall orange hue ... but anyway.)
Back on topic (sorry) .... I'm beginning to really admire Hayley's stamina. Everyday she seems to be in a different city doing another concert. By the looks of her schedule it seems that she's not going to stop for a while, either! That must be hard work! I really admire her for her dedication and committment and her unwavering enthusiasm. She clearly loves what she's doing and I respect that after being in the industry for so many years she still has the hunger to keep challenging herself.

Martin Hi Martin, All the photographs are still available. In a few cases, the image tags have been removed because they exceeded the 100Kb limit but link direct you to Karsten's photobucket account. All the others (the great majority of them) still appear on the forum. Many thanks to Karsten, I H F, comet and Paddy for the excellent coverage. Roger
