Hi everybody! Today, 50 bikers will ride up Pall Mall to The Royal British Legion's Headquarters to present a cheque for £10,000 to Hayley Westenra. The bikers will leave from 48 Pall Mall, London at 2:15 PM. Funds were raised for the Poppy Appeal by The Royal British Legion Riders Branch. Hopefully there will be pictures available online after the event! Many thanks to the Press Association for the tip. Stephany

Hi Everyone I have just returned from the British Legion in Pall Mall where Hayley spent over 30mins with members of the Legion Bikers Branch. She received the cheque for £10000 and took part in the customary photo shoot. Lo and behold I bumped into Roger who had also turned up. All this happened outside the premises so Roger and I had a great view, took many unusual photos (I'll say no more until you see them later tonight) and were able to have a quick chat with Hayley afterwards. We also met and talked to Kathryn from Bedlam. I'm still Hayleywowed to say anymore at present but suffice to say that we said our goodbyes to Hayley who was then going straight to the aiport to get her flight to Ireland. Martin

Hi Martin, Thank you very much for your brief report - it's so nice to hear that you & Roger could go and show your support on behalf of HWI -- especially on such short notice I look forward to seeing your pictures! Stephany

Hello Stephany and Martin! If I'd stayed online for a few minutes longer this morning I might have gone to Pall Mall too. Never mind, I'm really looking forward to seeing the photographs. Gosh, we're having a Hayley photofeast today! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard

If I'd stayed online for a few minutes longer this morning I might have gone to Pall Mall too. Hi Richard, Yes, I'm really sorry about that -- after I posted the information on the forum, I kept a close eye on the "Members Online" box hoping that you would see the message in time. I read the PA reports every morning but I had a look at today's press release later than usual simply because I was busy adding all those new pictures. I'll be more careful next time, promise! Love, xx Stephany

First of all, thank you so much Stephany for posting details of this event this morning. I saw you post at about 10.45, checked the train timetable, grabbed my camera and left! It proved to be well worth the effort!
Richard, I felt sure we would see you there but I realised you may have missed Stephany's post and I am so sorry we had no means of contacting you. I tried telepathy but either you or I need more practice!
I arrived in Pall Mall about half an hour before the event was scheduled tyo begin. The bikers were gathering but there was no sign of Martin. To pass the time, I walked slowly around the block. As soon as I completed this short circumnavigation, I spooted Martin. We didn;t have to wait long before a car pulled up and Hayley and Kathryn emerged. We spoke for just a few seconds as they disappeared inside the Royal British Legion building but felt sure that we would see them again later.
The cheque and the photocall took place a few minutes later outside the building so Martin and I tried out best to look like Steve and Stuart despite the fact that our cameras do not compare favourably with theirs!
We then spent several minutes talking to Hayley who, by now, is somewhere in the air above the Irish Sea. Comet and Co, take good care of her for us!
I managed a few semi-decent pictures which I will post shortly.
Roger

"These bikes play havoc with your hair - even when they're not moving!""That's better!"This was an unexpected but delightful meeting. I never thought I could be so Hayleywowed even when she had not sung a note! Roger
