Hello everyone I'm a little surprised that no one else has yet commented on Fiona's new CD, although some who bought it a St James have admitted to not yet having played it! (shame on you - you know who you are! ) I've played this CD a lot over the last few weeks and I still love the whole album. But, whilst "the Willow Tree" remains my favourite track (and may be my all time favourite Fiona piece!) I have fallen in love with several other tracks, namely "On a Branch", "House by the Harbour", "Song for the Motherland" and "Saying Goodbye". I think It's because they are the slower tracks and that's when I feel that Fiona really makes her violin 'talk' . I hope you guys find time to play this CD soon 'cos I (and I'm sure Ian and Fiona) would love to hear what you think of it. Incidentally, in the notes Fiona writes that "The Willow Tree" was based on a poem written by a girl called Wendy. It must be an amazing poem to have inspired such an incredible piece, perhaps Fiona would share it with us sometime. Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant, If you tell me this new CD is at least as good as the previous one, then I'll definitely order it! I know it's difficult to compare different CDs but I love Fiona's work so I suppose I won't be disappointed either way ? Lots of hugs Stephany

Hello Stephany Hi Grant, If you tell me this new CD is at least as good as the previous one, then I'll definitely order it! I know it's difficult to compare different CDs but I love Fiona's work so I suppose I won't be disappointed either way ? Lots of hugs Stephany I was only thinking this afternoon that we hadn't heard from you for a while and here you are! This CD of Fiona's is awesome! She has come on in leaps and bounds in both her writing and playing skills. The orchestra helps too, but I normally only play 'non Hayley' CD's once or twice - this one is very different and I'm playing it a lot. I don't have any of Fiona's other CD's as I've always said I prefer to 'watch' her perform which is why I like the DVD so much, so I can't offer a comparison, but I'll stick my neck out and say "Get it". You can punish me later if you don't like it, though I am confident you will Love and hugs Grant

I am extremely grateful to Ian for sending me this album. In preparation for the interview, I reviewed the album, and shocked myself. I couldn't fault it. Me, the queen of nit-picking, the one that can never be pleased, couldn't find anything wrong with the album. Not one second of it. I was forced to award not only 5/5 stars overall, but also 5/5 on all of the categories, meaning she's the first to get a perfect score on my website. I really wanted to knock a star off somewhere, to save my integrity or something, but I couldn't justify it to myself! I feel like I've lost a wrestling match. Critics like to criticise... you know? The embarrassingly glowing review can be found here

Hi Nicola,
Thanks for the review Nicola. I'm beginning to think I might enjoy this album. Assuming I can find a copy that is. I do have a couple of Vanessa Mae albums, (and Raven's of course) and from what I heard from the youtube vid you linked to on your site, this is probably even better.

Hi Nicola I really enjoyed your review of Fiona's album, your highlights were very similar to mine also. I certainly think you will enjoy your interview with her, she is a lovely down to earth person and will, no doubt, be thrilled by your reaction to her album. I think also that by being perfectly honest about your review you are doing no more than being true to your principles and proving what a competent reviewer you are. Just a thought though, isn't stating that you could find nothing wrong with the album a criticism in itself? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest wishes Grant
