Hello everybody!
Daisy Chute is set to appear on PBS in 'Highland Heartbeat - A Musical Journey'.
From The Scottish Heritage Society...
Edit: I think the CDs and DVDs should be available nationwide early in 2009, not 2008 as stated.

Highland Heartbeat
December 2008 will see the launch of 'HIGHLAND HEARTBEAT - A Musical Journey', being released for PBS Stations Nationwide.
An exciting brand new major television ‘music special’ and stage show is being produced for broadcast across the United States on the PBS Networks. The show is currently being filmed in stunning locations throughout Scotland and will play live at the Theatre Royal in Glasgow on August 13th. “Highland Heartbeat” will be released to the PBS Network by New York station WLIW during its all important pledging period in December with CDs and DVDs available nationwide early in 2008 and an extensive tour to follow.
The idea for the Show was first suggested to Fiona Kennedy the well known television presenter, actress and singer by David Christie, the New Hampshire based Chairman of the Scottish Heritage Society. “Not since the heydays of the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra, will American Public Television have seen such a dynamic musical production from Scotland” says Christie. “Fiona was the obvious choice to lead the effort to create a show that would include a range of both Scottish and mainstream popular international songs.”
Fiona Kennedy continues “To create a show of this type required a considerable leap of faith, but in my heart I knew that there was so much fresh and undiscovered talent in Scotland that we could pull this off. The Show will be modeled on other shows that have proven successful on the PBS Networks with a unique and original Scottish theme, including a lot of numbers that are filmed in stunning locations throughout Scotland.”
A composition by award winning musician and composer, Phil Cunningham will highlight the best of traditional music. Other contributors with new material include American singer-songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman. The musical director for the show will be Kennedy Aitchison and the Stage Director/Choreographer Sheridan Nicol. Award winning Scottish actor, Brian Cox, will be the narrator.
Over 200 auditions were held in April and May from which an outstanding cast has emerged which will be led by Fiona Kennedy herself. “I could not be more excited by the quality of the voices that we have chosen and I think that each of them will eventually become stars in their own right.”
A public relations campaign will be launched in September to make Scottish organizations across the USA and Canada aware of the upcoming show and to encourage them to offer assistance to their local PBS stations for the manning of phones during the pledge breaks.
