In my early days, I didn't had any music idol (I think that music wasn't so important to me) later when I become more interested in listen to music, I was never in to liking what everyone else thought was good music, or the big hits in the charts.
In the middle eighties (I think), when my parents bought me "The Complete Mike Oldfield" album for Christmas (that was my wish), so Mike become my first idol, I collect the possible albums that I could find (There was no INTERNET then) and that my parents could afford (I was at school), I was a big fan of Mike for several years.
Later eighties when I started to work, and finally bought a CD player, I bought Cd's from several artists (Curiously none of Mike, and only I bought "MOTS" because Hayley is on it), back then I hadn't any music idol, I loved Jethro Tull (several albums), Peter Gabriel "Plays Live", Peter Frampton "Frampton Comes Alive", Barclay James Harvest, Kate Bush, Fleetwood Mac, Enya etc.
More recently, I became a big fan of The Corrs, cranberries (Dolores O'Riordan) and The Dixie Chicks (the first musicians that I had to import some Cd's and DVDs).
...And finally, I discovered Celtic Woman and Hayley, and I never felt before the joy I feel when I hear Hayley singing, I really don't like opera, but I love to hear Hayley singing classical pieces, since I discovered Hayley I am more into "Classical", "Cross-Over", I love to hear All Angels, Yulia, Katherine Jenkins, I bought her DVD "Katherine in the Park", but to me her voice is to operatic, I only enjoy some of her songs (for me her voice don't suits every song that she sings, on the other hand Hayley has IMHO a very beautiful voice that suits almost every song).
Lately, more than ever before, the need to hear music (Hayley) become more important, so THANK YOU FOR YOUR MUSIC, HAYLEY!
I hope that one day your enormous talent will be truly recognized ALL OVER THE WORLD!
