Dear Martin, I quite agree with your saying that time hasn't come for a 'Best of' album but business is business, and they know we'd just pay for whatever they make of Hayley. This is especially true for Decca Japan- look at the number of compilations they have produced, like Crystal and Amazaing Grace- Best of Hayley Westenra. Probably it's because Japan is the forefront of Hayley's career in the Asia market that they adopt such strategy. After all, I'm don't really mind buying compilation albums; besides paying for the songs the albums are in themselves collectibles. (Apologies if I went off topic a bit ) Cheers, Tin A Best of Album can indicate an artist is taking time out to work out where they are going to go next, but also may indicate that there is still life in previous albums. The Amazon best sellers list is interesting. Hayley's top two albums are still doing well there: #245 Paul Potts #257 Josh Groban #311 Josh Groban #351 Bocelli #1,169 Sara Brightman #1,327 Hayley Westenra #1,022 Bocelli #2,069 Sarah Brightman #2,187 Hayley Westenra #12,513 Russell Watson #25,542 Katherine Jenkins #30,669 Charlotte Church #36,924 Russell Watson #34,339 Charlotte Church #39,890 Katherine Jenkins Except for Charlotte Church's these are much newer albums.

Well, if there is a duet with Jonathan Ansell on this album, wouldn't it be the one that's on his album? The song called "If You're Not the One"? I don't know the song Now is the Hour. Well, it looks like Dark Waltz isn't on it after all.

Hello Libby! The track list doesn't include 'If You're Not The One', so if there is a duet with Jonathan Ansell, it must be 'Now Is The Hour' or 'Time After Time'. Hang on, I wonder if Hayley's recorded a new duet version of 'Pokarekare Ana' or one of her other songs? Place your bets! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard

"Now is the Hour is of course an English version of a Maori song. It is not unlike E Pari ra. It would not surprise me at all if Hayley went for that.

According to Jonathan's official forum, Hayley said last night that it was not going to happen. Now, whether that means a) Un Giorno Per Noi is definately not going to be on it, b) the duet wil not be Now is the Hour, or c) there will be no duet. Here's the link. jonathanansell.forums.umusic.co.uk/t/1093.aspx?PageIndex=2 Interpret it as you will. I'm really hoping it's not choice c. ~Psychic NL

So, what's the 4th new song? A new recording of an "old" song is not a new song. There's nothing wrong with the original recordings of any of those songs. I personally can live without the duet with Jonathan Ansell. I find his voice a bit irritating. I literally was on the verge of a headache after listening to their duet a couple times in a row. I love how Hayley sounds in that song, so I'm willing to put up with it a little bit, but my head has its limit on Jonathan's voice. Especially when Josh Groban sounds a hundred times better singing it.

Looks like no duet. Paddy That was exactly what I thought, and the only reason I put in the other choices was because I'm an optimist and was hoping I was wrong. I didn't believe it though. Hopefully there will be more duets in the future though. ~Psychic NL

I'm afraid it does look like no duet and that it is a "best of + 3". It has the look of a "potboiler" album rather than a major new one. I wouldn't have thought it was the right time for this either, but Hayley's management have been right and me wrong so often in the past it could well happen again (I hope).

Yes I think this album is the record company's idea rather than Hayley's and probably their idea to do a tour as well.

Hi Jeff,
Yes, like Stuart I too have a history of making criticisms of Hayley's management and record company and being proven wrong. I suppose it is my impatience. My current beef is about the Japanese Songs album and their failure to properly promote what is in my opinion one of the best, if not the best, album I have ever heard by a solo singer. Is that just because I love Hayley's voice? Is it only me, and perhaps a few other dedicated fans? I'm not convinced of that.
River of dreams, perhaps a holding strategy. But much better to release a repackaged version of the Japanese Songs album. With the right promotion, I think it could really sell. All it takes is one influential DJ to realise how brilliant it is.

Also, Drew, at the top of the album it says August 08! I thought it's not released until November! Anyone have any idea?
