aren't we missing Isaac? after all both Isaac & Sophie can both sing, Although I'll admit I've not heard him sing with Hayley.
I also like KJ but think that it would have to be the "right song" for them to duet.

By the way, who is Mario Frangulias? Hayley recorded a duet with Mario on his recent album 'Passione'. There is a thread on the Other Albums sub-board HERE. Graham

By the way, who is Mario Frangulias? Mario was Hayley's guest artists throughout the Winter Tour in November 2004 and at the UNICEF concert in Canada House, London on 23 November 2004 - eight concerts in all. Their duet of Hine e Hine is still the best version I ever heard IMO. Roger

I voted for Jonathan Ansell. I really think that he brings out the best in Hayley and she brings out the best in him. I think that their duets are really mutually beneficial for each other and together they make the song 'more'. I know that sometimes when Hayley duets I wish the other person would be quiet so I can hear more of Hayley! I never think this with Jonathan.
In particular, Un Giorno Per Noi at the Classical Brits and Time to Say Goodbye are just magical. You never get the impression that it's duetting for duetting's sake.

Why did you leave out Helmut Lotti? That song is great. I also like Lee Mead in All I Ask of You. He's the best out of the others I have heard. I have not heard Jonathan sing it with her, but I don't need to, because I don't care for Jonathan's voice. Believe it or not, there are also some people who don't like Hayley's voice.

I love the Helmut Lotti duet, it is both old and new. I get the impression some of the members here even dislike it, but i think it was a milestone in Hayley's development and career. I have the double cd and the DVD I went to a fair bit of bother to track them down, I think of artists as far back as Jim Reeves when I see the video it is a gem that will reach across several generations, as for who I would like to see her duet with It would have to be a beauty and the beast kind of thing, really deep and rough male lyrics, not nessecarily tuneful, maybe Bob Dylan, Tom waits or Leonard Cohen or a bit of Bruce Springsteen. light and dark, complete contrasts, but not violent rap, that would just make me puke !

Eeeew, I don't like Bruce Springsteen! I don't want to be tortured by a yucky voice in order to hear Hayley. I know I would not like it. Of course, I've already mentioned Josh Groban, much to many members' disapproval here. But I also think Michael Buble would be good, because his voice is similar to Helmut Lotti's, and he sings a similar style of music, and Hayley herself has voiced interest in duetting with him, too. Also, he is very popular in North America, so his fans here would discover Hayley. He works with David Foster, like Josh Groban has. Maybe Buble's fans would be more likely to like Hayley than Josh fans. Don't worry, I don't think Hayley would have anything to do with violent rap.

I was just re-watching some of the videos of Hayley singing with Russell Watson. I particularly like their duet -- mainly for the sheer excitement that seemed to be etched across Hayley's face! Those videos are magic because you can see that Hayley's thinking 'Wow, I can't believe this is me!!!' the entire time! I was going to suggest another duet with Russell Watson and then I noticed that they had recorded 'Time to Say Goodbye' together in 2007. I'm not sure how I feel about that track. It sort of gives the vibe of two voices simply placed alongside each other rather than interacting with each other. Duets seem to be a really big thing in classical/crossover territory. It seems that every album come hell or high water seems to have one. I'm of the view that solo singers should stay solo unless a duet partner really adds something more to the mix. That's why I think that I like a lot of Hayley and Jonathan's songs. I feel that those duets came out of him and Hayley having a real connection and creating music out of that -- rather than the possibly artificial product two people just stuck on a record together due to marketing reasons. I don't know... it's just that some of the classical duets you see seem to be a bit forced. Libby, I also really like Lee and Hayley's song 'When the Stars Go Blue' -- I hope to see a live performance of that someday. Comet, I'd never really listened to Bruce Springsteen before and you got me interested -- so I checked out some of his clips on You Tube. I agree that Hayley could sound great singing on a song like The River ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK2L_0DeL3U As you said, it would be a light/dark sort of thing -- a bit like the Rolling Stones' 'Gimme Shelter' -- with Mick Jagger's rooster strutting vocals and then Merry Clayton's backing. (Probably not the most accurate example, but it was the best I could think of).
