I agree, the beekeeper is one of my personal favourites, I have it in two editions.
I keep mislaying or losing several of Tori's albums because they are in packaging that won't fit in standard cd racks.
I can normally put my hand on a cd within a minute or two, I went looking for American doll posse yesterday because a few of us at a wedding the other night got to discussing the world's best female songwriters and performers and unanimously agreed that Tori was probably the most extraordinary and original of them all. I think I have most of her albums including Y Kant Tori read on the orignal 12" vinyl promo version. Some of the albums took me years to get used to and some I still haven't got a clue about, but they can be the most interesting and rewarding of them all in the end. Her interest and observations on Mary Magdalene are most fascinating.
Anyway I am right now copying Scarlet's walk, American Doll Posse and Abnormally Attracted to sin so I can file them in a standard cd case and rack and find them when I go looking for them.
That's what I get for buying the Deluxe editions, they are full of posters and postcards and photos and DVD bonus discs, the photography and sleeve artwork is always fantastically intriguing and a great part of the pleasure of exploring the album. it is not for the faint-hearted, nor is it Pop Music.
I saw Tori perform recently in Dublin's Olympia Theatre with just the piano and she sure connected and engaged with her Dublin audience. Most or all of the concert is on YouTube somewhere.
Her recent album Night of Hunters seems to have touched a chord with the Irish psyche and the two presenters Carl and Eamonn on Blue of the Night on RTE Lyric FM play her material regularly.
