Hi all, Thanks so much to all who contributed photos from the ITunes festival. I'm sure Hayley was thrilled to see a large turnout from HWI. Judging from your reports, the Raven Quartet are a wonderful accompaniment. Best regards, Joe

Many thanks to everybody for all the reports and photographs, and also to Drew for the video of 'Both Sides Now'. I was so intrigued by Hiram K Hackenbacker Rael Jones on the guitar that I didn't realise he was the only accompaniment during that song. I've now amended my report. Best Wishes, Richard

We passed the rear entrance to Koko just before 2pm and noticed Rachel and Stephanie from the Ravens outside. We stopped and spoke to them, letting them know that we saw them last week at Kilworth House. They were very happy that we recognised them and were really chatty. One thing that they said was that they were now with Hayley for the whole of the River of Dreams tour! Simon Lole confirmed last night that he would be on the piano for Hayley (and conducting) for most but not all of the River of Dreams Tour. The Raven Quartet and The Pavao Quartet would be taking turns in supporting Hayley. Is anyone else confused or is it just me? Roger Sorry Roger, I did not intend to imply that it would be alternate shows, just substitute when not available.

Do you think Hayley likes those super close up photos. I'm sure Hayley is quite happy with the way she is presented photographically on this forum. She has an amazing beauty which cries out to be shown in glorious close up. Best wishes Grant

We are allowed in at 7.30 and, as has already been mentioned, Jim, Dave and I were not allowed to take our 'professional' cameras in. I must have had a suspicion that something like that would happen as I had decided to take my old DSLR, not wanting to risk the 40D! Likewise Grant, I had my old TRV30 tucked away in a shoulder holster to avoid being frisked rather than the HDR-CX7 in a bulging pocket. On arrival, my party of four were in the queue just behind Dave and Martin. When we reached the stalls we found that there were only odd seats left and finding four together would no longer be possible. So we hot footed upstairs to seek out chairs. The balcony had no chairs except for the first level boxes which were occupied by members of the "guest list". Seeing spaces in the second level boxes I asked if we could move on up. A helpful young member of staff went off to find a manager and eventually came back to say yes, please wait down there. We waited for a manager with a key and the wrong one turned up only to be told that the last boxes were for iTunes guests and that the boxes included refreshments. After a few polite exchanges he took us up to the top floor where we were shown deep leather sofas with an exceptionally comfortable view down from the heavens. The Michael Nyman pieces were most enjoyable but prior to that we were all tempted to jump off the very high balcony. My only objection to the deep leather sofa would be that I am a vegetarian! It was time for me to give up the comfort of the sofa and sit on the floor almost underneath a table. I had a job to do. Afterwards, Hayley said that she had come prepared with an encore. I seemed that the (majority of the) audience were keen to make their way to their respective tube trains rather than applauding for a few seconds more. I think it was the fact that the quartet had left the stage that "they think it's all over". If only there had been a guitarist coming out through the stage door at the appropriate moment then HWI might have had a busking encore on the pavement.

Hi everyone Thanks to you all for your reports and photos, which, turned out to be more than I was expecting Well done to those of you who managed to get some very respectable shots of the performance. I was disappointed that I wasn't up to being there (thankfully I am feeling better now) I would really have liked to show my support for Hayley as part of such a large HWI turnout . Nevermind though, once again, the reports and pics mean that at least I don't feel as though I have missed out completely. Mark.

I am afraid that the quality is not good so you will all have to purchase the EP when it is released to get proper sound. In the meantime: Danny BoyMore medication for Mark.Dave, I do not know how clever the iTunes sound engineers are but of the two videos that I have posted, in the first (Both Sides Now) Hayley starts two bars early (I cut out the intro) and in the second (Danny Boy) somebody drops a glass. Can they remove these hiccups with snopake?

Hello Natalie and welcome to the forum.
It's a great pity that you weren't able to meet up with any of us during or after Hayley's iTunes concert, or to meet Hayley afterwards.
Although it can never be guaranteed, we generally manage to spend a few minutes with Hayley after a performance and I'm sure that you will be able to meet her very soon.
Are you intending to go to any of Hayley's 'River of Dreams' concerts?
Best wishes Grant

Can they remove these hiccups with snopake? Hi Drew, Perhaps you should offer your services to the iTunes sound engineers? ! What a pity about the glass being dropped during 'Danny Boy'... There again... that's the nature of a live show isn't it? Hopefully some positive measures can be taken to reduce the background noise. Perhaps the additional glass dropping sounds would been more welcome if Hayley had been singing a cover of: 'Babooshka' by Kate Bush? Andrew
