Hi!

Well, I wanted folks to know about a new artist on the horizon from NSW Australia. I met Olivia through her father who is on the Mairead forum that I administer. He had seen that I was looking for someone to set my poems to music and suggested his daughter.
I began writing mostly love poems, inspired by a certain fiddle player from Ireland in April of 2007. I've written over 200 since. A dream was to have them set to music with a Celtic/Irish tint to them. I'm still looking for that but Liv came along and has done five pieces so far, and done them beautifully.
Liv is 18 and a very prolific singer/composer. She had one of my poems set to music in 20 minutes, and another in 10. She has many original pieces that would be considered folk or contemporary Christian. If you'd like to know more about her or see and hear her perform you can find her on MySpace under her full name. The band with her is poor and had little rehearsal time. She'll be using other artists for her first CD which she is laying down the tracks for now.
Please check her out and let me know what you think. BTW, the piece she does on the video, Pile Of Ash, is set to one of my poems.
It would be wonderful for her and Hayley to meet someday. Such a mentor would be so helpful with such an amazing artist.

Actually Steven, that's not quite what moscapoet said. His poems were "inspired by her"; not written to her and, perhaps, that was only true of the early ones and not the 200 that followed.

Hi all, I have posted four new songs on Livs myspace, three are from the new album. the other (Vocea) is not on the album and is only on her myspace until the album is released in December. all the songs have been mixed but not mastered.......One God is still the original myspace version and will be updated to the new longer version once the mastered copy is completed

Well folks the competition to name Olivia’s new album has finished, and I am glad to announce the winners of the three albums. Due to the need for privacy I will name the contestants as they are called on the forums they attend……………Swift from the Mairead Nesbitt forum and from the U.K. …..Thomas from the Mairead and Meav forums and I believe from Ohio…and Celtic Fiddle Chick from the Mairead Nesbitt forum and comes from Minnesota. All these winners also haunt the Olivia Gritten Forum.The name of Livs new Album is "Words after Midnight"

Words After Midnight, Livs latest album is now ready for sale and distribution. Keep your eyes on CD Baby for her debut, and also I Tunes.
The album will launch end of January and already requests are coming in for albums to be sent to America, and Japan.....You can purchase your copy via my email or through Livs Myspace, American fansite, Brazilian Fansite or Japanese myspace and fan site. Mailing will not commence until the fifteenth of January 2009

OK folks. Wanna win an autographed CD? Well, how about creating some lovely Liv wallpapers? She has quite a few photos on her My Space page, and we will be doing a photo shoot this week to supply more. The winner will receive an autographed CD and the top twelve entries will be used in a 2010 Liv Gritten calendar. Since there are twelve songs then if you want to take a seasonal approach and use the titles please do so. For those who don't know all of the titles they are as follows: Crossroads, Postmodern Waltz, Autumn Gold, Saving My Soul, Dangerline, Long Winter, One God, Contradiction, Cats Don't Fly, Pile Of Ash, Daydream, Indigo Sky. Contest will end on March 31st.

Some other projects in the works at some point will include a Liv Gritten T-shirt to promote the 2010 tour, and some forum buttons once our membership is large enough to justify them.
