Hello Richard and everyone Just wondering about arrangements for meeting up before the concert . I have a train that will get me into Southend Central in time to check in to my Travelodge around 3pm. It appears to be about a mile from here to The Pavilion so I may walk if it's fine or, if not, catch a train to Westcliffe. I will have with me a large tube of posters for Hayley to sign, so will hopefully catch Hayley or Richard (or Dave) as the tourmobile arrives. Hope there are some decent places to eat. Looking forward to meeting up with everyone. Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant,Roger and Richard.
As I will be driving to Southend on Tuesday I will be able to meet anyone at Central station and take them to the venue when required as it is a fair walk.
Just let me know when to be at the booking office and I will be there. It might be better to eat in the town as there is not much of a choice near the Pavilion. However folks the choice is yours.
Gordon

Hello Grant, Gordon and everybody! I'll be catching the train from Fenchurch Street to Westcliff, and I should be at the Cliffs Pavilion by 3:00pm. There is quite a good coffee shop that's usually open all day, unless you want a full meal. See you there, Richard

Hi Gordon Many thanks for the kind offer. My train should arrive at Southend Central at about 2.40pm. I then have to check in at my Travelodge and do a quick change before heading for the Cliffs (Pavilion, that is! : Perhaps the best thing would be to exchange mobile numbers so I can let you know where I am and whether or not it's convenient for you to wait for me. I wouldn't want you to be hanging around. Best wishes Grant.

Hi fellow Southenders! I will endeavour to get to Southend Central by 2.30 at the latest and will await Grants arrival. If that suits you, Gordon, we will meet you there at around that time. My hotel is only a few hundred yards from the venue so there is little point going there straight away. A meal in town would therefore meet with my approval! Those who will be going straight to the venue, or will be arriving later, we'll see you there and can be in telephone contact if necessary. See ya there, folks! Roger

Hi Roger Are you suggesting we meet up at Southend Station and go for a meal before heading for the Pavilion? If so, that won't work for me as I have promised to get the posters to Hayley before the concert, well, that was the plan for Cardiff so I hope she will be expecting the same thing to happen somewhere next week. I can easily hop on a train down to Westcliffe (they run about every 15 minutes) then come back up to town for a bite to eat or we could let Gordon run us down (not literally ) pass on the posters, you check in to your digs, then go for food. What do you think? Best wishes Grant

Are you suggesting we meet up at Southend Station and go for a meal before heading for the Pavilion? Basically yes, that's what Gordon suggested to me and he said there isn't anywhere near the venue to get a meal. As we will be coming into the centre of town, it seems the logical solution. If we don't get something there, we may not have another opportunity. Now, I would do a lot for Hayley but starving isn't one of them! Roger

Hi Roger Now, I would do a lot for Hayley but starving isn't one of them! Can beat you there! Already done that at Christmas Presence in December 2006 when we got stuck in traffic and didn't arrive in Sheffield until just before the concert. Ended up eating at a motorway services at about 1am! Now back to Southend. I don't really want to be lugging a large and heavy roll of posters and a camera bag around with me all afternoon and I'll feel much happier when I know Hayley has them. However, I think it is still a good idea to meet up at Central Station on the day and plan from there. Best wishes Grant

Hi Roger, Gordon and everyone Well, I'm all packed and ready to go now and I'm praying for Hayley to have returned to full health and be raring to be on her way to Southend tomorrow afternoon! All I have to do is roll up the posters and squeeze them into their tube for transport. Hope you've got your 'Sharpie' ready Hayley! Best wishes Grant
