Grant, your photos at 3200 ISO are awesome! Are they like this just out of the camera or you have applied some noise filter on the computer?

The Canon 40D has it's own "High ISO Noise Reduction" software built in (but don't ask me how it works!). Once in Photoshop, I made slight adjustments to the contrast and applied a very small amount of sharpening before cropping. This was the first time I had used these facilities on the camera and was also amazed at the results. Hi Dean. I was using a Sigma 18-125mm lens fitted with the HSM high speed motor and optical stabilisation switched on. I could have done with a bit more focal length - Steve H often uses a 100-300 zoom which would have been a better choice had I got one! Best wishes Grant

Hello again! The last couple from the afternoon session from me. Hayley was, I think, talking with Mary's friend Trudy. She had previously been sat between two elderly gentlemen. One of whom wrote something in Maori on the flyer which you can see Hayley holding. It reads "E Rere Rate Matangi" Anyone able to translate? Hayley appears to have spotted me whilst in conversation with Dame Malvina. The post concert offering will follow later! Best wishes Grant

"E rere ra, te Matangi" translates as... "Sail On, Matangi", but, so does "E rere ra, Matangi"
Just to put a fly in the ointment, "E rere ra te matangi" with a small m can also translate as "Fly the wind yonder"
It makes me wonder if someone hasn't written down a song request, as it is a New Zealand Folk Song.

Mark Hi Mark and thank you! I've just had a closer look at the photo and I hadn't noted the gap "ra te" is what is written, but it is all in capitals, so no clearer there. You could well be correct that it is a song suggestion for Hayley to consider. Best wishes Grant

Grant, many thanks for your brillant pictures - especially Will's Were you close from the stage? They are of amazing quality. Drew, you must be tired of hearing this but your videos are absolutely wonderful. I cannot thank you enough for recording Will's performances on 'So Far Away' and 'Don't dream it's over'. Peter, I enjoyed reading your report. Thanks for sharing your comments on this concert. Lots of love Stephany xxx

Hi all! Just finished reading through this thread. Thank you all so much for your reports and pictures. I like especially the photos of Hayley before the concert started, during soundcheck and shopping. They show very good the natural Hayley. It was for sure a concert not to be missed ... well, I'm jealous. I wished I could have been there. But the time during the week and the late confimation made it only possible for locals to go there. So thank you even more for bringing the concert to all our homes. I adore your videos, Drew. They are brilliant. Best wishes, Thomas
