Hi All,
It is a real problem that Hayley has to try to solve, to keep all her fans happy when they are spread so widely over the world. We are fortunate in the UK that we live in a small and compact country, and that Hayley has a base here, so we see a lot more of her than our fair share.
But at the moment Hayley is concentrating on Japan, where wonderful things are happening for her, and again it is a country of manageable size. The problem with North America is that it is so vast that she could spend most of her time over there without coming anywhere near some of her fans. She did extensive tours last year with CW.
I don't know how she can best solve that problem, especially as Hayley is an artist that is at her best live. We have seen what a workaholic she is, but still she cannot be everywhere at once. In order to progress, she has to work on one part of the world at a time. I have no doubt that she will be back touring in North America at some time in the future.
Despite her frequent appearances in the UK, she still sells out her concerts months in advance, and that is without advertising them. Admittedly, these tend to be small venues, but those are the ones she prefers. She might not be as powerful or compelling in a larger venue, I don't know, but it would be one way that more people could get to see her.
So I have to ask the question of our North American members, is she well known enough over there to be able to sell out venues in cities in the US and Canada? If not then regrettably, I would have to say she would be better making her efforts elsewhere for now.
So perhaps this appearance in Washington DC is more important than you think, since it will massively increase her profile in the States, and perhaps make her well enough known for a US tour to be viable. (or at least more viable than at present).
