Hello, I've stumbled upon your forum/site a couple days ago and I've really appreciated it.... I really like all the hard work you've accomplished so far I've discovered Hayley's music last summer, while I was listening to some classical tunes (I love classical and opera music) on Youtube (I was looking for "O Mio Babbino Caro" actually). I've heard her rendition, and though it wasn't an "operatic voice" per-say which was more what I was expecting from such a song.... I was amazed by the "purity" of her voice and how easy it seemed for her to hit the notes.... then I've started to dig through Youtube to find more of her songs... and really liked her whole repertoire ! Then I started to really like her music and her voice.... more and more.... and over the time... I basically bought all the items I could find... ranging from her great concert DVD to her last book.... and listening everything for hours and hours . She's now probably my favorite singer... Apart from her obvious talent, she also seems to be a good person in life and pretty down to earth, which is great... not to mention that she's an attractive young lady I really want to see her in concert... actually Paris is not _that_ far from London, so I just need to make some room in my agenda.... and I hope you guys will recommend me a good concert to see:) It's really a shame that she's totally unknown in France... I would gladly help to promote her any way I could in here BTW, is there anyone from France in this forum ? As for me, my name is Ugo, I'm 22, I've recently finished my studies and I'm doing multiple Internet-related businesses for a living.... PS : I hope you'll excuse my English, I always had a few issues with the tenses.... Cheers, Ugo

Bienvenue Ugo. Yes. Hayley is a wonderful singer, and I believe in years to come she will be legendary. Those of us who have been privileged enough to hear her sing live never forget it. I have seen her three times, and each time came out with a feeling of total exhilaration. She is in Jersey this weekend, which might have been possible for you if you had known in time. But she is off for a tour of Japan shortly. If you look at the Concert Schedule on this site, you will see a number of concerts from July on that you might be able to get to. I hope to see you at one soon. By the way your compatriot Stephany is one of our moderators, and I'm sure she too would love Hayley to perform in France. To some extent I know how you feel, since when Hayley performs in my home county for the first time ever in July, I will be in France on holiday. And don't worry, your English is fine. Better than my French anyway, and I used to live in Paris at one time.

Hi Ugo, Bienvenue/welcome to "Hayley Westenra International" I'm so glad to see another fellow Parisian fan on this forum. I hope you enjoy being part of our little family and get to see Hayley in concert very soon. She performed in Paris in May 2006 with Il Divo at the Palais des Congres but unfortunately I didn't know her back then. The same year, she performed at the Stade de France in November before the rugby match France-New Zealand. She also came back to our country in October 2007 during the Rugby World Cup for a private event. I saw Hayley for the first time in London last year and I don't regret making the trip to England. It's not that far by Eurostar and you can also make a nice weekend of it. Everybody on this forum is very friendly so it's also a great way to meet other amazing friends from all over the world, not to mention enjoying the concert in itself and meeting the lovely Hayley. Anyway - I hope to meet you soon at a concert, possibly in Paris one day? Your best chance is definitely to come to England but who knows!? In the meantime, I look forward to reading your future posts. Welcome again and thanks for joining! Stephany

Hi Ugo and welcome to the forum from Central England. I really enjoyed reading your first post, you sound very enthusiastic about Hayley and that just about sums up everyone else here! You have no need to apologise for your English, I understood everything you wrote perfectly! I really want to see her in concert... actually Paris is not _that_ far from London, so I just need to make some room in my agenda.... and I hope you guys will recommend me a good concert to see Any 'headline' concert of Hayley's will blow you away. It just depends on personal preference as you will no doubt have the choice of small intimate venue with just Hayley and her musicians Fiona and Ian, or large venue indoor/outdoor with full orchestra. Best wishes Grant

Martin Thank you Well I saw for the Jersey concert about two days ago :/ It's true that Jersey is quite close to France (I don't really know why it's so close of France and part of the UK... but anyway... who cares ) but I think it's far easier for me to come to London from Paris (there are plenty of planes and trains to get there each day... and it's quite cheap now). And it's been at least 8 years since I haven't been to London, so it's time for me to come back and check out Big Ben Anyway, as long as it is in Europe.. it's great A few weeks ago and before knowing this website.... I thought Hayley was only singing in her native NZ.... It seems to be a great country that I will be probably visit next year.. and it makes me think of Corsica (the little island in the south of France and from which my family come from).. but I won't make a 25h flight... just for a 2h concert, hehe Ugo

Stephany Hello Stephany, Well I'm glad that I'm not the only one to know an 'unknown' singer in France It's kind of frustating that no one knows her in here :/ I've heard of Il Divo, but though I really like classical voices (it's mostly what I listen to).... and sopranos such as Anna Netrebko or mezzo-sopranos like Katherine Jenkins (which is quite unknown in here too !) I don't really like the sound of male tenors.... so Il Divo wasn't for me at all I've heard them, they are very good (I didn't knew Hayley back then), but it's not the kind of voices that I look for. Hope to see you in concert someday too, keep me posted . Ugo

Best wishes Grant Well thank you, I love big orchestras but I don't really like crowded places too, I also like the intimacy of small venues.... so I think I'll check out both kind of concerts Ugo

Salut Ugo et bienvenue **SPAM? PLEASE REPORT HWI! Your story reminds me a little bit of mine. Here in Germany there are just a few who have ever heard of Hayley. She used to come here but didn't do that the last two years. So going to the UK is the best option. I don't like Il Divo either but fortuneately it didn't keep me from going to one of their concerts to see Hayley. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I saw her the first time with Il Divo in Oberhausen and even met her after her perfomance. She's a wonderful person and I was immediately over the moon ... and I still am. Many greetings from Germany, Thomas

Cheers, Ugo Hi Ugo, Welcome to 'the' forum for all things Hayley!Although Stephany is at present studying in Manchester she is our resident French Global Moderator, and a fine job she is doing promoting Hayley. You see Stephany is also our media specialist she finds articles before they are even written :2fun: and you will see posts here that even alert us on the very morning an event is announced, so that HWI can mobilise its reporters and photographers! We look forward to meeting you at an event soon. I would recommend one of the summer outdoor events such as Broardlands or Nacton. hwi.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Concert&action=display&thread=1075hwi.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Concert&action=display&thread=1059&page=1 Enjoy your time here, and have fun Steve H

Hello Ugo, Yes Hayley certainly does take your breath away. Her voice has a magical quality that is now mixed with such feeling and passion, especially in a live performance. To choose a concert depends on what you want. The Nacton and Broadlands are with other groups etc. The one at Lincoln Castle is with Aled Jones and there are others where it is mainly Hayley with a few solos etc from the accompanists . Look at the Schedule thread and find one (or more ) on a convenient date. Then read the Concert thread to get a feel of what sort of concert and gathering there will be. In the meantime enjoy the CD's i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Graham
