Hello everyone, As some of you may know from the Gotta Skate V thread, I am a fan of Andrea's duets of Vivo Per Lei - especially the version sung with Hayley at the Ice Skating 2 or 3 years ago. Well, on Andrea's new "Hits" album Vivere, there is the original all-Italian version of this duet with Giorgia and I thought it would be interesting to compare that with the "Hayley" version. I can't post the whole song for copyright reasons but for the sole purpose of artistic comparison and review, I will post the final part of both these versions of Vivo Per Lei, at a reduced bitrate. Andrea Bocelli & Giorgia (last part) Andrea Bocelli & Hayley (last part). I think this version with Hayley stands up very well indeed against the original - and indeed all other versions that Andrea has recorded with various singers, in different languages (but none are in English). If anyone wants to hear clips from them all, I can post them Or watch all the versions on YouTube here (800,000+ views for Hayley's version, closing in on the "2nd place" version (sort the list by View Count) I'd pay a lot of money for an album with a version by Hayley on it. Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave, Thank you for this. Is it me, or the second link doesn't seem to work? Forget what I just said. I tried again and it worked. Incidentally, 'Vivo per Lei' is one of the first songs I heard when I discovered Hayley (after the Celtic Woman show) and wasn't very impressed at the beginning. It grew on me progressively but I think the reason I didn't like it straight away is because I was more used to the French version with Hélène Segara. The version with Giorgia is sweet but not as gorgeous as the one with Hayley. Imagine what it would be with her current voice... Cheers, Stephany

I just compared with the Giorgia version (which isn't as good) because it's the one on Andrea's new album. I'd be very disappointed if Andrea ever recorded an English-Italian version with anyone but Hayley, after her outstanding performance in Canada. This performance can be seen here at HWI.Cheers, Dave

Hayley's version is now on first place on youtube with over 1.200.000 views..
I love Hayley's version but the original with Giorgia is the best in my opinion ^^

I like both but Hayley's voice just has a "prettyness" factor that just can't be beat... btw that video is pretty much what turned me onto Hayley's sing in the first place... I just would listen to it over and over and I couldn't get over how beautiful her voice was!

Hi everyone, I have just got around to see Dave's, original post in this thread. Thanks for the easy links for a comparison, however to my ear there was no comparison Graham

Probably Vivo Per Lei is the reason why I got interested in Italian songs. I've heard the one featuring Giorgia so many times that by inculcation it has become my favourite version. But still I wish so much that Hayley can record a studio version of Vivo Per Lei. There's some chemistry between her and Andrea which makes the song freshening.
