Hi All, Here's a comment or two about Hayley from 'Il Divo' Forum member, "jasmine". This just goes to show what a lovely thoughtful person Hayley really is! Regards, Andrew Jasmine wrote:- Edit: I put the quote in a box. Richard

Thanks Andrew, Yes, she never seems to lose an opportunity to connect publicly or privately it seems. She never seems to tire of people & (deservedly) retire into her own space. She's all heart!! I've yet to hear a report of a few feisty sentences screamed out in haste!!
I suppose that explains to a fair degree the consistently first class quality of her singing. Graemek

Graemek I think there is no doubt that the singing (as opposed to 'just' the voice) is part of the whole person. The instrument is superb and arguably exceptional in its own right but it is the performer's delivery, the way she plays her instrument, which is the person being herself coming through. It is that characteristic that makes the exceptional quality of the voice uniquely Hayley Westenra. I will not name names, but there are some superb young singers coming through, one or two already well established yet none of them have that ethereal quality that is Hayley. Had we not heard Hayley I would have waxed reasonably lyrical about several of them. While one must ensure one is comparing like with like, having heard Hayley, for me, there is simply no one to touch her, or even come close! Peter

Thanks for your replies To me what sets Hayley apart from other artists is the fact that not only does she have a God given singing voice (her instrument) but she also has a beautiful nature (like Graeme says- she's "all heart"); very infectious laughter; and a genuine desire to take an interest in the people around her. One person with all these wonderful qualities- that's VERY RARE! Regards, Andrew

I know what you mean Andrew! Hayley is so consistent that she's having exactly the same effect on new people now as she had on me the first time I saw her, over 2½ years ago. I bet she'll still be doing it in another ten years time! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard
