Dear Dave Ben's new song is wonderful and we are hoping to record a rough copy by next week for you guys to hear. I think Ben should go on to write an entire opera for children/young adults as he already has a beautiful story. Dave, I would like a copy of the charts, that will be very nice to have and could come in very handy when approaching the record labels! Zoe is studying really hard and Saturday is her last exam day, she has done extremely well up to now and the headmaster is VERY IMPRESSED with her , especially as when she was asked what she wanted to do with her life she replied "A Maths Teacher!" Love Linda x

Hello Linda, Glad that Zoe got a 100 per cent in her maths exam. I trust she is excited to be recording songs again. I've included a link to zoemace.com in my message board forum for The Cottars--they are a Celtic musical group from Canada. Regards, Joe

And I can't wait to finish the new song! Currently it's done... I'd love to tell all about it but until the lyrics come back from the language experts I can't let Zoe learn it... She told me today that the tune is completely stuck in her head... (sorry Zoe, but that's an excellent sign I think).
As those who've been following this new development you'll know the song is going to be sung in Italian. A REAL challenge for me to write - I only know Italian musical words. However, the song simply must be in Italian... you'll understand when you hear it! So, it's been checked and given thumbs up by one source but I'm trying to get it double checked by someone who lives and works in Italy... I've already got it registered as a New Work so as soon as it gets the OK we'll do a recording for Zoe fans. If any readers are fluent in Italian, please contact me asap... this is driving me slightly crazy!!!!!

Hello Ben, and welcome to the HWI Forum! I can't wait to hear Zoë sing your song, and I hope it will be a huge hit. Sorry I don't speak Italian, but it is certainly a lovely language to listen to. Perhaps you could post an English translation of the lyrics. Best Wishes from London, Richard

Hi Everyone Just thought I would update you all on Zoë's very exciting week. On Sunday Zoë came 9th out of 2005 winners for the CSV awards and she was the only child to be nominated. We had a great family day out visiting lots of the London sites Zoë wanted to see and then came home totally exhausted. Zoë did in fact sail through her entrance exams and was one of the top scoring pupils. So much so she is sitting another exam next week for academic scholarship!! We are soooo proud of her, not only is she a wonderful child with a beautiful voice but she has brains to go with that big heart of hers!! Yesterday, meeting The Countess of Wessex at St James Palace was amazing. Zoë was granted a private meeting with The Countess who knew all about what she had achieved and had heard Zoë sing!! I will have photos shortly! Well all that excitement must have been too much for Zoë as she is currently in bed with a nasty virus which has swept through her school. 200 pupils are now off school with the illness. But, Zoë has a very mild version of the virus as she really takes care of herself, taking vitamins eating a very healthy diet and keeps very fit. However, the school are trying to control the outbreak so have asked the children who have been unwell to stay away from school until Monday, so Zoë is using her time at home wisely by practicing for her piano exam. Things are looking good for Zoe's new album. Zoe seems very keen to sing for another charity and the more I think about it the more I like that idea. If we make sure that the albums content is suitable for the classical charts I am sure it could be a great success! Right that's it for now, but will keep you all posted Love Linda x

Congratulations Zoë! Well done for all your achievements, and I know you will sail through your academic scholarship exam! I'm pleased you enjoyed your trip to London, and I hope you gave the Countess of Wessex your autograph! I hope you soon get over the virus, but practicing on the piano should help to take your mind off it. Love to you and your family, Richard xx

I mean, Lesley Garrett is... a BIG star... wow! I can't wait to read your report on tomorrows events... I hope it all goes well (and I'm quite sure that it will!) Even more cheers, Dave

Hi Guys What a day! It was soooo hard to keep a secret from Zoë for 1 whole week and arrange everything without Zoë knowing. Especially trying to phone Sally from ITV Central News to tell her we had arrived at the surprise destination! Zoë was completely shocked when she saw the Central News team on Westminster Bridge coming towards us and then telling her they had booked the London Eye for her birthday treat. On the way to Westminster Zoë kept telling me that she shouldn't have time off school to check out Mencaps recording studio and that kind of thing could have been done in half term, which of course I had no answers to and it was getting harder by the minute to justify her day off school! As we were waiting to board our "VIP" pod on the London Eye, it was so wonderful to see Zoë's face light up when she caught sight of Lesley Garrett. The shock when she realised she was coming towards us to say hello was unbelievable, then the next I knew Zoë was in tears!!! Zoë just couldn't believe she was talking to her hero, the smile on her face was fixed and she just kept saying "I can't believe it!" Eventually Zoë got over her shock and Lesley and Zoë got to sing together and it was amazing. Lesley has the most FANTASTIC voice and gave Zoë lots of tips. She was VERY complimentary about Zoë voice and was most impressed by what she had already achieved and has asked me to keep her informed of everything Zoë is doing, especially her new album! Lesley is a wonderful lady with a BIG personality and heart, I just can't thank her enough, she has put a smile on Zoë's face which I think will remain there until next year!!!!. I have some great photos, but being a complete useless article I don't know how to post them so you can see, so Gerrit if you are listening, or should I say reading this please could you do that for me ...? Thank you Love to all (back to school Monday for her scholarship exams!) Linda x

Hi Linda, Zoe & everyone else! Zoe's voice is incredible for someone her age! I couldn't imagine a ten-year-old singing O Mio Babbino Caro, but Zoe did it amazingly -- much better than many other young (and old) sopranos who have recorded it. All I can say is "wow." And what makes it all the more wonderful is that Zoe is using her talent for a great cause. I'm glad everthing went well at the London Eye -- that must have been a wonderful (and well-deserved) surprise! Good luck on your exams, Zoe!
