Bah! I once came last in the Canterbury Chess Club B grade! I also won and unrated tourney once! Top that, you blighters! I wouldn't say chess was big in New Zealand, not really.

This following article was in the Christchurch Press today about Sophie. She is turning into a beautiful young woman and seems to be doing well at university.

Hi Ross, well done I spotted that article and wondered if anyone would post it.
Interesting comment from Sophie about her duets with Hayley. But when Hayley arrives home for her Christmas break,I wonder will it be mentioned re a duet. Could be interesting eh?
cheers,
Rodders

Shame there won't be any more duets. That was the highlight of the "Pure Tour" for me.

Thanks for the original post Ross and also Roger for the later link. Even if you did not know you certainly would guess they were sisters Certainly as Sophie is getting older the resemblance is even more striking. Best Wishes, Graham

In todays Christchurch Press the following article mentions Sophie. It involves the annual Editorial versus Advertising departments football match. Sophie sung the national anthem before the game and the Bikes for Ghana got some money out of it. Sophie (and Hayley) is mentioned near the start of the article and at the very end. Reduced the filesize of each image.
