Yay!! And not only that, she beat Laura Wright by 2 spots. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifWhy don't they have an image of her album, like they do for everybody else? And they did last time I saw the chart? In one sense I am sorry. Laura Wright has had a good run and I am sorry it is Hayley that has pushed her out while being glad for Hayley. Having met Laura but no where near as often as Hayley and more often the collective whole of All Angels as they once were all together, I know they are all lovely people and a pleasure to have met but, well, Hayley is Hayley... Hi everyone, Just to top and tail this one, Paradiso sales in the UK last week were 12,217 copies ( Music Week). If it had sold 2,000 more last week, it would have been no. 8. If it had sold the same number (12,217) the week before that, it would have been no. 8. Pure first entered the chart at no. 8, way back in 2003. Pure had massive TV advertising throughout the week but there was very little for Paradiso late in the week, and Sky News didn't happen - that could have made a difference. So all in all, Paradiso is doing better than you might think - a pretty good performance in my opinion and it's likely that the start of the Rugby World Cup will give a boost to its sales, slowing down its inevitable slide down the charts. If it's still in the Top 75 in 4 weeks time it will have beaten the chart performance of Treasure. There's still plenty of time to go! Cheers, Dave

Hello Dave and everybody! To complete the summary of this week's Classical Artists Albums Chart, Hayley's 'River Of Dreams' has slipped a place to No.17, 'The Very Best of Karl Jenkins' has also slipped a place to No.15, and 'The Armed Man - A Mass For Peace' is down five places at No.27. www.theofficialcharts.com/classical-artists-albums-chart/Richard

Hi everyone, Paradiso has gone from 13 to 23 in the first midweek chart today, which so far is very much in line with what has always happened in the UK after Pure. Pure went from 8 to... 8 Odyssey 1 went from 10 to 20 Odyssey 2 went from 16 to 25 Treasure went from 9 to 21 (River of Dreams went from 24 to 41) Paradiso went from 13 to 23 (this could change). So it all depends now on what TV advertising there is later in the week, if any National radio stations play World In Union, and what effect the start of the Rugby World Cup on ITV has at the end of the week. I think Decca need to keep it up in the high 20s in this week's midweeks, before any more supermarkets "do a Morrisons" and drop it when they decide what to stock next week (when RWC effect should start to kick in). Because of RWC which starts on Friday, I am hoping for a higher position in the final chart on Sunday than in the midweek charts. Back inside the top 20 would be nice. Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave.
It is vaguely connected with your post/this thread but as you had locked the other one I didn't know where a reply there might go.
Both your post in this thread and your termination of the UK tour thread until authorised knowledge is gained seem to me classic examples of the responsibility with which this site is managed. Certainly I would never have dreamed of links for solely gathering hits statistics etc and it further highlights just how easy it is to be misled into making innocent assumptions, from which rumour-mongering grows, authority is insidiously acquired and in the final account, a lot of people feel disappointed or cheated and bad odour is created.
Yours aye Peter S.

I'm confused. The UK classical chart still has her at #1.

Hi Simba,
That's last Sunday's chart, they date it for the following Saturday.
The no. 13 is for the main album chart, which is the main one we need to watch as it indicates the sales we can expect to see. It's nice to be no. 1 in the classical chart but they often don't sell many copies, unless they are in the main chart as well.
Next chart is out Sunday evening but Paradiso will be well down somewhere in the twenties, I think (in the main chart).

Sadly, Paradiso has slipped to no. 30 in the UK albums chart (but is still no. 1 in the classical chart). But all is not lost, Hayley's World In Union single is currently in the seventies in the iTunes chart and if it keeps that up, could get into the official singles chart next week (which might force some airplay and that would give it a further boost). The World in Union album on which Hayley figures four times is about to be released and has climbed to no. 39 at Amazon UK so that too could help Paradiso. We shall see. Dave
