Hi Folks, You may want to learn about a brilliant singer called Aselin Debison, from Nova Scotia, Canada. In 2002 she signed a five-album with Sony Classical at the age of 12. Her first album was influenced by her homeland's Celtic and folk music. Last month saw the release of Aselin's third CD; her song 'Life' has been in the Canada top 40 for the past five months. Aselin was in Toronto recently to promote her CD, Bigger Than Me. She was interviewed recently to talk about going from celtic music to pop, waking up before the sun rises, and why she has never taken voice lessons. www.andpop.com/article/3992

I thought "Sweet is the Melody" was cute! For not taking voice lessons her voice is really good....

Hi Natasha!
What is your favorite song from that CD? I really like her version of "Moonlight Shadow" from the Sweet is the Melody CD. That song by Mike Oldfield was a top ten hit in the UK back in 1983.
Do you have Aselin's Xmas CD from 2000? I just got mine direct from Nova Scotia! Aselin sings "The Littlest Angel" brilliantly. I'm hoping to get her newly-released third album soon.

I don't actually own any Aselin items although I want to get at least the debut and DVD.
I take forever to get stuff! LOL. I've been telling people to buy "Shine" (Becky Taylor's second album) when I myself didn't have it! LOL. I finally bought it to and I wasn't diassapointed!
I'll just have to get her CD and DVD.

Hi Natasha, I know you'll just love the 'Sweet is the Melody' CD.
I've written to Aselin's manager, asking to give us info about tours and appearances etc., but I didn't get a reply.

Hello Keith, Finally I've received a response from Brookes Diamond Productions, the management for Aselin. Here's the comment from N. Sanja Davis, Project Coordinator: [black]Thanks for your email! We appreciate your interest and support of Aselin and the creation of the sub-board forum. Unfortunately, we just don't have the staff to monitor such boards and therefore we can't officially authorize any of them. There is another message board dedicated to Aselin here where you could connect and get information on concerts etc. I hope this is of some help.[/black] The link is to a Yahoo message board.

Joe, did you take a listen of her latest album? Hi Steven, Yeah, I own Aselin's latest album 'Bigger Than Me'. It's quite a change from the last one. The Celtic music is replaced with pop music sounds. Don't get me wrong...it's a brilliant CD. All of the songs are well-written; Aselin had a hand writing a few! The album's best songs are "Lazy Days" and "Had To Grow Up". There's not really a bad song in the bunch though.

Hi Keith, It was SO nice to see that you joined that Yahoo group also! It's not as organised as this forum. Did you see their calendar? I have all of those concert dates listed already.
Take care, Joe
