Another stunning e-mail announcement from Allister The Cottars have recorded a song for a Canadian East Coast compilation CD just in time for Christmas!The song is called "Peace Carol" and is also scheduled for radio airplay across Canada. On November 6, 2007, Warner Music Canada released the latest winning installment in the Atlantic Standards series, Atlantic Standards Christmas, on CD. It also be available digitally on Tuesday, December 4th on Apple's successful iTunes site. "Atlantic Standards Christmas" provides the listener with a variety of famous East Coast artists offering up yuletide standards and unique originals. On this disc you will find new seasonal recordings by The Cottars and J.P Cormier, as well as a hard to find tune by Ron Hynes. This collection is destined to become a Christmas staple. Put a log on the fire, sit back with an eggnog, download Atlantic Standards Christmas from iTunes and sing along. Also featured on the CD are Aselin Debison, The Ennis Sisters, The Rankin Sisters, Great Big Sea, The Fables, The Irish Descendents, Rita MacNeil, Dave Gunning. "The Peace Carol" by The Cottars was recorded on September 18 and 21 at Lakewind Studios, Point Aconi, Nova Scotia. The song was composed by Bob Beers and was later sung by John Denver. And the lyrics are HERE Joe

Here is a photo of the CD... I just got a copy from eBay...looking forward to it. The Cottars' musical director told me that Warner Canada will distribute a CD to radio stations across Canada. This CD will have The Cottars' song 'The Peace Carol' as well as Christmas songs by Michael Bublé and Josh Groban. Joe

"The Peace Carol" is now on The Cottars' new MySpace page! The solo vocals are amazing. The chorus contains some of the best harmonization I've ever heard.
