The Cottars' third CD will be produced and mastered in both Cape Breton and the USA —
The Cottars recently spent a week in Nashville, Tennessee, working at the famed Sound Emporium Studio under the supervision of friend and fellow Cape Breton Islander Gordie Sampson. The Nashville tracks will feature guest performances by some of Music City's most revered studio musicians.

Rounder Records have notified me of the title of The Cottars' next CD, which is to be "Forerunner". However in the USA it may only be self-titled. Thanks for your enthusiasm! I'll have some samples and lyrics up in a few days. I'm unsure about the US title (it may be self-titled here) but in Canada it will have the title "Forerunner". I've e-mailed Lauren Calista, the publicity contact at Rounder Records.

Since I've had no response from Rounder Records; I can't confirm that the CD is self-titled in the US. It will be entitled 'Forerunner' for Canada. In the next few days, I shall contact The Cottars' musical director regarding if any of the previous CD's are to be released in the US proper. The 'On Fire' album saw a Japan release in the summer.
