If you look at the picture of the me and the girls, it looks like either someone was blowing bubbles or there was a disco ball above us. Hello Joe! That effect could only have been caused by a disco ball, because bubbles would not produce a regular pattern like that. It looks as though everybody was having a ball, especially you! Best Wishes from London, Richard

Hi Joe, Many thanks for the great review and photos. It certainly looked a great night, and even more when in a small venue, you were right beside the stage. Also great to see you met Fiona and Roseanne from the band. Did you remember how to pronounce Ciaran?? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifLooks like an orb in that photo in the top left hand corner . Emmett

Hi Richard,
I'm baffled as to what caused those strange orbs. It must've been my 'bubbly' personality! There wasn't any disco ball and no other pictures have them. It might be dust on the lens. I used one of those disposable cameras and had the pics put on a CD.
I was lucky to get that pic, almost fell over a chair trying to get to them!
Take care, Joe

That cafe was very, very small indeed, plus it was packed w/ people. Good thing I moved my seat away from the side of the stage. At most I could only get 3 of the 4 ppl on stage in the camera frame. Plus the back of the crowds heads was in most of my pics. I did remember how to pronounce Ciaran (thanks to you! ). However I got the two lads in the band mixed up as I knew I would. The best part was the group coming to have dinner in the same restaurant as my family...also them spending the night at the same hotel. I gave them their privacy and didn't bother them when they left the hotel. Those orbs on the pic may be dust on the camera lens. It could be the electricity in the air...some of my lady friends say that (more like... they USED to say that!) Let's see if those orbs show up in my photo with Hayley !! Cheers, Joe

Hello again Joe! The spots on the picture could have been caused by a problem during the film manufacture or the processing. If they do not show up as black spots on the negative, then something might have gone wrong when the photo was put on to the CD. Bye for now, Richard

The "orbs" are not caused by dust. If they were, they would be solid white specks. It's not a problem with the film stock or processing. If it were, they would appear on all the frames. The potential causes are: 1) A fault in the lens manufacture. But that would be visible on all frames. 2) A liquid of some kind has sprayed onto the lens during the evening. This is the most likely as tiny droplets drying onto the lens would cause this exact effect. Was this the last frame taken that night? Was this frame the only one affected? 3) A dirty lens on the CD writer. But that would have affected all the frames. However, the important factor is getting the shots regardless. And they are fantastic photos. Thanks Joe for a wonderful report to go with them. And I'm still jealous. Not really, glad you had a good time. Keith.

The spots on the picture could have been caused by a problem during the film manufacture or the processing. Hi all, Thanks very much your help! I think Richard hit the nail on the head. I had a look at the negatives. There is quite a regular pattern of dots on one side of the negative. This must be residue left behind after the film processing. I've removed the dots with a soft cloth. Cheers, Joe

Hi all!
Keith, I got an e-mail yesterday from Allister MacGillivray. He said that it was nice to meet me and thanked me for helping to spread the gospel about The Cottars. "Hopefully the publicity will all pay off some day" he wrote.
