Hi All,
Just being back from visiting the Holyoakes, I can confirm that a new album has been put on hold for the time being.
This is not because Holly has lost interest in pursuing a career in singing - there are some overriding reasons for it:
a) Holly is still in the process of pursuing her studies - and it is important for her to complete those.
b) In Wales, she is becoming very much a local celebrity, receiving lots of invitations to perform at local events.
As to a), let us not forget, Holly is quite a bit younger than Katherine Jenkins. Katherine didn't even begin to achieve fame until she was about 23. Holly has plenty of time!
b) Holly is indeed very well known locally - I can vouch for that. She is a firm favourite of the Newport City Council, as the deputy mayor of the city pointed out. The deputy mayor was hosting the concert last Saturday and was very enthusiastic and proud about Holly being a Newport resident. Also, Holly has already replaced Katherine once at a Welsh Rugby Union Match as the performer of the Welsh Anthem, and now she has been invited to sing the anthem at a soccer match (a discipline of football not noted for making use of professional singers for anthems).
So all I can say is - stay tuned, eventualle Holly will make it!
