Aha!  I didn't understand this post earlier, but now I've looked on Google I realise 1,600 Pennsylvania Avenue is the address of the White House. It's just as well I never send Christmas cards there, because it sounds like a very long walk for the poor old postman!  Purely by coincidence, I've just returned from a ramble in Regent's Park, where I saw Winfield House through the trees. This is the American Ambassador's residence, where Hayley sang for the Queen, Tony Blair and George Bush back in November 2003.  Best Wishes, Richard  |

One thing that I discovered about house numbers in England is that they contain one or two numbers! My street is quite long and there are houses in the 2500's I'll send you that PM as well...surprised that your search of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue didn't give you a different city. |
