Grant,
Thanks for the pictures of the German Volvic Christmas promo CD. I saw a very small picture of that CD somewhere on the Internet (so small that you could hardly tell that it was Hayley's CD) and always wondered exactly what it was. It seems that you have solved the mystery.

Good idea Richard! She could sign in the little box at the bottom and it would look like a gift from her! Grant PS: Congratulations on you incredible record of 3000 posts!! (and Roger!!) Hi Grant and Richard! Grant thanks a lot for sharing the scanned images with us of your German 'Volvic' Christmas 'Mary Did You Know' promo CD. What a fantastic addition to your collection! Have another look at the picture of Hayley on the front... Have you seen it before? You probably will have done if you have a copy of either the original 13 track version of 'Pure' known then as the 'Special Edition' released in 2003 (Decca 475 330-2) or the Australian Limited Edition Bonus Christmas CD version of 'Pure' (Decca 475 453-2) Have a look inside the CD booklet for either of these CDs and look for a VERY similar picture... BUT spot the difference if you can... (take off your rose tinted specs first and then look carefully) :je The original picture in the 'Pure' CD booklets shows Hayley in a navy blue parka coat with grey trim around the hood and on your German Volvic promo CD the colours of Hayley's coat have been altered to red with white trim around the hood - to make her look like Santa! Did anybody else notice? Ho! Ho! Ho! Auf Wiedersein... Andrew

Hi again Grant, I've just noticed that your German 'Volvic' promo CD advertises some of the 'Pure' concert dates on the reverse of the little cutout card of Hayley which I really love BTW! You may be interested to see some German 'Pure' concert posters here which I have collected. I will have to post some better pictures of the posters- these ones were taken on my old camera. Unfortunately I have never seen Hayley perform in Germany like Lothar and Thomas have! Well... not yet anyway! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBack on topic now... Please could you scan some more of your German 'Volvic' promo CDs Grant? Thanks, Andrew

Hi Andrew.
Glad you like the Volvic Christmas promo - Is it a pretty rare one then?
Great spot too! I remembered the blue parker when you mentioned it and compared them.
Perhaps I should do a comparison when I post photos of the other two CD's?
Best wishes
Grant

I have two other Volvic promos that are very similar. Here is the first one. Only track 1 is complete, the other 3 are excerpts. Best wishes Grant

Here is the second Volvic promo with sleeve variations, the actual CD is identical. It also contained another 'cut out' as displayed in the Christmas promo as well as the following card insert:- Hope you like! Grant

Hi Grant, This 'Volvic' promo CD is really COOL! Thanks for sharing the scanned images! I notice that the picture which appeared on the back of the 'Wiegenlied' CD single (I will scan my signed 'Wiegenlied' CD single for you later) is also included on the reverse of the inlay card. A picture taken from the same series was used on the Winter 'Pure' Tour posters and fliers in November 2004. Brilliant Grant - do you have anymore surprises in your collection? I don't have any of the 'Volvic' promo CDs so I'm really delighted to see these! Andrew

Here is the second Volvic promo with sleeve variations, the actual CD is identical. Hope you like! Grant Hi Grant, Spot the difference... I also noticed a variation in the graphic font typeface for 'Pure' on the front cover of the CD inlay for your 'Volvic' promotional CDs... These ones show 'Pure' in a bold white typeface whilst the released versions had 'Pure' in the same font, only not in bold and in pale blue I guess I'm a "Pure anorak"!!! Well actually I'm surprised my name isn't "Parka" because I'm a Hayley anorak!!! Andrew

Hi Dori, Yes, these press packs are given out free but not to the general public. They are intended only for people within the music industry, principally for radio stations in the hope they will play sufficient tracks to encourage fans to buy the album. Inevitably, some of them "escape" and fall into the hands of unscrupulous non-fans who see it as a means of making a quick and easy profit. We saw one or two of these on Ebay before the album was released which meant there was a strict embargo on all information contained therein. Somebody reported it to Hayley's manager (or was it to the record company?) who quickly had the item removed. Now the material is no longer embargoed, there is not quite the urgency but it is still in breach of copyright because the press pack clearly states, "Promotional CD - Not for sale". But it happens. Hi Folks. With regard to the last mentioned Press Pack for Treasure you will be pleased to know that the beneficial seller of the item was Oxfam in Glasgow. This means a charity benefited from the sale NOT an unscrupulous non fan. I have no doubt the person who donated to Oxfam knew the value of it but would rather the money went to charity. So in that case all is well that ends well. The value of these items is dictated by the people who are prepared to bid for them, I am one of those people so are many of the others on this forum. I was the final high bidder on one of the press packs that was withdrawn before the albums official release But here's a laugh. There was an Enya single I wanted and three of them were listed by different sellers, I was not going to be near a computer for the end times of the auctions. so in the order the auctions were going to end, I bid the least for the first one, doubled it for the second one, and doubled that again for the third one listed to make sure that I would get one. When I finally returned to my computer some days later I found I had been the winning bidder on all three and had to pay all three sellers accordingly That cost me I now have three very nice copies of Anywhere Is by Enya and I don't really mind at all. Part of the fun is the chase, and deciding how much you are really prepared to pay. If you really want something you bid as much as you are genuinely prepared to pay, the seller nor the other bidders know this amount and this is where the real thrill is. To get something for say £20 when you were prepared to pay say £300..................................... Promo singles often sell for over £300 sterling it just depends on who else wants the same item and how (£) badly. comet
