If anyone has just heard this track at www.hayleywestenra.com isn't it an amazing track! It is so jazzy/rocky/bluesy: Its great! Any comments on such a great song would be cool! Not that all the tracks aren't great, and especially 'Lie With Me'... but I want to see what info people have on 'Summer Fly' and what people think of it! Happy Dayz People!

Hi MJ I too love this song. To me is is all the things you say but also, it has a country music feel to it as well as a Celtic/Irish sound. Having visited Dublin last year, I can almost hear it being played in a traditional Irish pub for example i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAlso, the words tell a thought provoking story if you listen carefully. It is something really different from Hayley and the tune really sticks in your mind after listening to it. I would also agree that all the tracks on Treasure are great. Best wishes Mark

Hi MJ and Mark, I absolutely adore 'Summer Fly'. I think it exactly what Hayley needed to liven things up a little. A number of people have said she should be a little more adventurous. She has done it with this track. I can't wait to see her perform it live. Roger

Hi Folks Summer fly sung by Maura O'Connell was a well known song in Ireland in 1992 when it was showcased on an album called "A woman's heart"
Also on the same album was Sonny, sung by Mary Black, You could hardly walk down a street and not hear the album playing somewhere it was that popular. The album was a compilation of the best women artists at the time made by DARA records and RTE our National Broadcast company
The Record No. : DARTE CD 158 A Woman's Heart. Various Artists
Mary Black and Maura O'Connell are well respected artists here in Ireland and in much of the U.S. I have at least seven albums by each of them and I'm quite sure there were albums by each of them I missed

Thanks for that, Comet! I knew I'd heard the song sung by a well-known Irish songstress, but I couldn't remember who. Now you've saved me the searching! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI agree Hayley's version has a jazzy feel to it, perhaps with a hint of country music, and it's definitely going to be one of my favourite tracks on 'Treasure'. Whatever genre the song belongs to, Hayley certainly stamps her mark on it in her own inimitable style! Best Wishes, Richard

I hope to that this is going to be a super hit... i've been talking online and slowly listen to all of them, and I love them all equally now! I retract my statements on Santa Lucia! I tapped my fingers on the desk till they were sore! That Summer Fly will hopefully be just as successful as it was for Maura O'Connell! Thank's for the information guys! Not long now till Treasure is realised! It is only next week! Now hasn't February just flown past! Happy Dayz people!

Hi , From what i've heard of the song,i love it too and i think it will do well in NZ , The repeat button will be used on my mp3 player quite a bit, Yes Roger that will be great to see live i can see the audience now clapping along and stamping their feet , I can imagine Fiona Pears loving playing on this song,is she involved in this album? And a video of the song would be awesome . What would Hayley be doing do you think. (apart from Singing) What ya mean February's gone fast now theres March and most of April Omg Treasure will be old news to you guys by the time we get it .Buried Treasure I hope they leave Summer Fly on it i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i hope no one seriously thinks we will wait that long to hear the album Belinda

Hi Belinda,
On the official website it says that the NZ version is the same as the US version (except for the title).
That means that Summer Fly will not be on the NZ edition.
I guess you'd better order the UK edition!

It is track number four according to the official website. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

And for anyone yet to hear it, Summer Fly is superb. It is worth buying Treasure just for that track alone. Incidentally, congratulations to Meagan for reaching 100 posts, thereby becoming a FULL MEMBER! Roger

Hi Meagan and Belinda,
You are right Meagan, Summer Fly IS on the US and NZ editions.
I guess I overlooked it because on the official site the song is listed as "Summer Fly" on the UK edition and as "Summerfly" on the US and NZ editions.
Sorry for the confusion!
Jeroen

Belinda Oh Hayley lass, don't forget the folks back home. I'm sure she's not but as she fills June here, will September get crowded out or is it a matter of a certain lead time before which nothing starts taking shape? Peter S.

Jeroen Interestingly that raises Comet's point that when proof-reading you tend to see what you expect not what is there. Where did the spelling change, I wonder and I'll bet it wasn't with intent! How much do lesser mortals change the world without even knowing they have done it! Peter S.
