Don't be put off, Jon. Even if you still have the same opinion on 26th February, buy the album anyway. I think you may be in for a wonderful surprise. Roger

Roger Roger I may be reading too much into your reply here  but do I detect a little hint that you may have heard more of Treasure than the current six songs on the hw.com site? Martin

Hi Martin,
My comment to Jon was based on a combination of having heard the clips to which you refer and earlier conversations with Steve Abbott. I know he's biased (and so am I!), but his enthusiasm made me truly believe that this album is going to be something very special.

This music suits her maturing voice the best, and i personally don't think the album can get any better! Dori

Click pic for much larger file !!!!enjoy, Graeme Hi everybody, Thank you Andrew for a fabulous selection of Treasure captions !!! Graeme posted screen captions on page 1 which are differently put together...hence I thought it might be a good idea to refer to them again !! Love, Marianne

Hi all, Having received the 5-track promo cd today i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I had a go at the video on the official site. Even though my connection was dodgy, I managed to view it all eventually. I was captivated by the combination of aural and visual sensation. Hayley's voice has definitely gotten stronger...her confidence in her voice's upper register is case in point. Simply gorgeous. No better artwork for the painting. Joe

That would need major financing, probably from Decca to gain the interest of the retail outlets but that is certainly a superb promotional idea and one that should not only recoup its outlay but make a profit.

Edit: I think this is a reply to Andrew's suggestion of a 'Treasure' calendar. Richard

Actually I want to apologize. A bit. You can tell I'm a misguided idiot when I listen to 'Shenandoah' and feel that Hayley's voice is a bit 'winey' and yet just now I've listened to it and realized it is in fact similar to the 'Pure' voice. This is what I wanted. I was happy with Hayley's voice on Odyssey, but hoped that Hayley would bring back the 'Pure' voice and she has. So I'm a prat! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif As for folk songs, I see Danny Boy, Shenandoh, Sonny, and err.... Alright I admit it, I am amazed. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifIts like a weight being lifted. Hayley has brought back that pure angel voice. However I still dream of Hayley re-recording some of those old songs and I will put all my effect into trying to write another 'Universe....' or 'River Of Dreams'. Even if I do and Hayley never records them, I can say I've tried. I'm sorry again for being a prat. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hi Jon Don't worry, we are all "prats" from time to time!. It also goes to show that the saying "first impressions count" isn't always true. Best wishes Martin

I think you hit the nail on the head there, Martin!
Both of Hayley's previous albums amazed me by the get-go. This didn't, but I'm hearing subtleties now that stop a song from becoming boring. It must have been worry to begin with, (plus disappointment that Hayley hasn't gone for something a bit more different and less safe).

Hi Jon Don't worry, we are all "prats" from time to time!. It also goes to show that the saying "first impressions count" isn't always true. Best wishes Martin Quite right Martin. In my case Hayley can sing anything, it is Hayley I go for. Normally, which is why I have never previously followed a singer, I go for the song and its arrangement and many singers and arrangements may well 'do'. With Hayley--and, 'yes', there was a slight predecessor, CC, I go for Hayley, regardless. 'All Angels' have this quality for me too. As a consequence, there have been several songs Hayley has sung which have not sat with me. But it is the Hayley rendition and they are on the CDs so I hear them. Each time I do I learn something more about that music. The Cassini is a case in point. I don't like it but I'll listen to Hayley singing it quite happily because i hear the artistry in her voice. I hear the subtlety of her vocal range WITHIN it. I recognise the music's challenge. I realise the superb vocal control that is needed and mastery of breathing that determines the stature of the singer, so I respect the song because it brings out the magnificence of th singer. Hello Jon
I know you've already had a lot of reassurance from forum members and I also detect a slight change of heart from you but I've posted previously about Odyssey.
When I first heard it I didn't like it, I was mortified and didn't sleep for two nights!
I now know I was expecting another "Pure" which Odyssey wasn't and never could be. Then I woke up to the fact that Hayley's voice was maturing faster than my understanding and I must have played Odyssey over 100 times since and I love it!!
Treasure will be awesome - just have a little faith in our Hayley
God bless
Grant
