Ah, but we are talking about material from a CD that isn't released yet. As Dave says, there is still an embargo on any clips or details other than those which Decca chose to release.

But surely anyone who has the DVDs and CDs etc can post clips on YouTube or whatever any way - what difference does it make to sale the original copies??? Dori I will leave Dave, if he feels inclined, to give a more detailed answer. Expressed simply, it is to do with not just copyright of material but ownership of a massive financial investment to launch the CD in an organised manner. The entire structure of the music industry (as with other commodities) is geared to a trust factor: wholesale and retail distribution systems, allowing for the big stores' computer systems, the chains and the little family-owned businesses to have a fair and ordered 'crack of the whip'. The publishers have just announced (I think its the 19th) the date in July when the last of the Harry Potter books will be published. Everyone involved in producing the several thousand copies of the first print run will be sworn to secrecy as part of a contract in which they can be sued for breach. I believe with one of the earlier books there were several criminal prosecutions for ATTEMPTING to breach that secrecy. What will probably happen is that different sections of the book will be printed in different printing factories and the whole not brought together for binding until the very last moment. The operation could be so timed, that there is a continuous process of bringing together, binding and despatching so tightly organised that deliveries arrive at every bookshop in the country at the same time, probably for a late evening opening prior to the day of publication. These matters are caught up in a matter of mutual trade trust and reputation as well as the protection of a massive financial investment. Peter S.

Hi Folks Treasure album 4 copies in BUY IT NOW section £19.99 on ebay under Hayley Westenra. FOR THOSE WHO JUST CAN'T WAIT Hi Comet
.................talking of bargains. I just paid £6.50 on "Buy it now" for what I thought was a different version of the 5 track promo and it turned out to be the full album!!
It had only been listed for 20 minutes too.

Hi Grant Wow, how did you manage that I had seen the full album on Ebay but that one said pre-order - I couldn't really see the point in buying that one as I wouldnt get it until the day of release and I could buy it at less cost on the day. Anyway, well done, yet again for another bargain Mark.

Have just noticed on Ebay that the Treasure press pack and the Treasure album with press release have been "pulled"
I find this worrying - not because people are being deprived, but because of sellers trying to make a profit from something they should not be selling in the first place. The worry is that Decca will, I'm sure, be aware who they and may well stop them receiving these "Treasures" in the future.
This could ultimately affect the number of press packs that get onto Ebay once any embargoes are lifted.

Hi everyone,
As you know, several promo CDs have been offered for sale on ebay, some of which have subsequently been removed (presumably at Decca's request). These CDs are given out in relatively small numbers for promotional reasons only and are strictly not for resale.
Following consultations with Dave, we feel strongly that HWI should not be allowing links to any further sales at is would make us appear to be condoning the sale of items which are still strictly embargoed. I must therefore ask that members refrain from doing so in future. Should any more appear, I regret we shall have to delete them.
This applies specifically to promo CDs and press packs for Treasure (not for any other Hayley items, of course) and we may review the situation after the album is released.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Mods: We will allow the existing posts to stand but please delete any further links to ebay for all future promotional items.
Thanks, Roger

Hi Roger A good decision which I support. If any product is embargoed by the supplier then we must respect this fact and not fill the pockets of greedy individuals. I, like many, am bursting at the seams waiting for Treasure to be released but I am quite happy to wait to 26th albeit getting my "fix" from the samplers on hw.com to keep me going! Best wishes Martin
